October is Clergy
Appreciation
Month We want to take this
time to say Thank You to all
the Pastors, Ministerial Staff, and Chaplains
who work vigorously, often neglecting
personal needs to give us comfort and
direction. They do so much, yet receive so
little in return. Take time this month to show
your appreciation to your ministry staff.

“Billy Graham Sunday”
Each year, the HCBA churches are encouraged to set
aside the first Sunday of November to be recognized and
engaged as “Billy Graham Sunday”.
This year, Billy Graham Sunday falls on November
2nd. As we think about the conditions in our world today,
it is not difficult to determine how or what we need to
pray about. Above all, pray for the gospel of Jesus Christ
to be spread ‘to Judea, to Samaria, and to the ends of the
earth’.
Thank You!!
We would like to thank all those who participated in the 17th annual Chevis & Helen Horne Home Walk/Rock-A-Thon on September 20. It was another successful year; together we raised $8,328.00! 14 HCBA churches participated. Thank you to the following Team Leaders:
Junie Herrington, Fieldale; Sheila Bourne, First Baptist, Bassett; Peggy Delancey, First Baptist,
Collinsville; Ross & Linda Gale, First Baptist, Martinsville; Lisa Stephens, Fontaine; Shirley Ray, Fort Trial; Trula Clark, Fuller Memorial; Brian Foley, Hillcrest; Linda Via, McCabe Memorial; Vera Haley, Mount Vernon; Donna &
Charles Anthony, Pocahontas Bassett; Margaret Caldwell, Starling Avenue; Judy Nash, Trinity

We would also like to thank Jim Philpott and friends (The B’s and J’s), who entertained us with some wonderful music.
Thank You from the ladies who reside at the
Horne Home. They are thankful for their wonderful home and what the churches do to help provide it. Stop by to visit them sometime or invite them to your church!
If your church did not participate, it’s not too late!
You can mail a donation to the HCBA office (make check payable to the Horne Home) at 3449 Kings Mountain Road, Martinsville, VA 24112.
