This guide is for Mind Express version 4 or newer. See www.techcess.co.uk for more help sheets. Sheet reference 4.2 Each Mind Express file is called a document. A document contains one or more pages. To create a blank document, click ‘File’ on the top bar, then ‘New’ in the menu. In the ‘New file’ window, check that ‘Create empty document’ and the styleset you want are selected. Click ‘OK’. Note: The choice of styleset affects the layout within each cell, e.g. background colour and font size. Choose ‘Default’ if you’re unsure. See ‘Using and editing styles’ help sheet for more info. In the ‘Page settings’ window, type a descriptive name for the page, so it can easily be found by yourself and others. To change the number of rows or columns the page grid, click the up/down arrows. Each Mind Express file is called a document. A document containsone or more pages.

To set whether new pages will beblank or from a template, open the‘Document preferences’ by clicking‘Document’ on the top bar, then‘Preferences’ in the menu.

If you want to use a template, check‘Use template for new pages’ is tickedand the template you want is selectedfrom the menu. Alternatively, if youwant blank new pages, untick ‘Usetemplate for new pages’. Click ‘OK’.

To add a new page, open ‘Page settings’by clicking ‘Document’ on the top bar,then ‘Page settings’ in the menu.

Click the green ‘+’ to add a page, thentype a descriptive name for it (e.g.‘Shopping’). Review thesettings for the page asrequired (e.g. thenumber of rows andcolumns). Click ‘OK’ to savechanges, or ‘Cancel’.

To switch betweenpages while editing,click ‘Document’on the top bar,then ‘Go to’ in the menu which appears.Choose from the options there.

To make a cell whichopens an existing page,first click to select thecell. Then click therightmost arrow on the ‘Edit Mode’ bar. Click the green ‘+’ to add an action tothis cell. Select ‘Go to page’. ‘Go to page’ is added to the action list for the cellSelect the page to open when the cell is selected. Click ‘OK’.
