Dear God, today was fabulous.

I didn’t get lost or frightened

and I saw loads of really cool

stuff. Thanks for everything

you have made and thanks for

keeping me safe.

It’s been a really good day.

O God who made the stars

and skies,

and everything I see,

and that you care for me.

Eternal Creator,

I give you thanks for your

comforting presence this day

and for the display your

and Sticklet got really frightened

and now he’s crying.

I’m so unhappy about Fishy

and I wish he hadn’t died.

It feels like my heart is

breaking into pieces.

O God my heart is heavy,

My tears are falling down,

Like rain from clouds around

my head,

and splashing on the ground.

Compassionate God of the broken-hearted,

surely distress has touched me,

and sorrow lies heavy in my heart.

I bring my lamentation before you,

and lay my mourning at your feet.

Amen.

God, Fishy was my pet fish

and he died. I am very sad.

I wish he was not dead.

I just want you to know that

I am sad.

Why did you let Fishy die? He

was special to me.

Do you care that I’m upset?

It is a very bad thing.

God, I’m angry with you for letting

Fishy die. He was my pet and I

loved him. This isn’t right and it

isn’t fair! Why couldn’t you have done

something about it and stopped

Fishy dying?

O God, you let my Fishy die.

I’m cross with you, this isn’t fair!

I can’t make out the reason why,

It feels as if you do not care.

God, the sky is very big, and

ants are very small. But you

can see them both.

I am only small, and the world

is so big. Thank you that you

care about me.

Amen.

God, when I think about how

huge space is it makes me feel

very small. It’s amazing that you

even know I’m here.

It’s so amazing that it makes my

head spin! Thanks for caring.

O God, I sometimes wonder

About the world I see.

The sky’s so big and I’m so small

And yet you care for me!

That’s amazing!

Majestic God,

whose glory is displayed in the grandeur

of the universe and in the infinite detail

of the smallest creatures,

we marvel that you grant us a place

with you in eternity through your grace

and mercy.
