For more information, contact [email protected] 270.809.3003 Student Spotlight - Senior Elizabeth Hall Elizabeth Hall is a Senior Graphic Design major from Grand Rivers, KY. She transferred to Murray State from a community college that highly recommended the art department at Murray. Hall was not always interested in graphic design. She states, “Not to discourage future artists, but most of the graduated painters I had spoken to had side jobs, like, that wasn’t what they did mainly. I wanted my art to be my main focus, and Graphic Design is something you can take out into the world and find a full-time job doing.” Hall says she has learned a lot from the faculty here at Murray State, “I have really loved working with the sculptor professor, Chris Lavery. He has got a lot of intelligent things to talk about when it comes to art history and the contemporary goings on of art and sculpture, so I glean a lot from his classes.” Another Murray State faculty member, Jim Bryant, is an inspiration to Hall, “He does so much to inspire and push his students, which did a lot for me while I was trying to figure out my place in my career field.” Hall states, “After graduation, I plan to stick around for at least a year while my significant other and I work out what our future plans are. I’ll work here during that, and then the plan is to move to a big city.” Pet Therapy Mark your calendars for Pet Therapy hosted by the College of Education and Human Services, to be held in the Alexander Hall atrium from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on the following Tuesdays: Fall 2018 December 4 Spring 2019 February 5 March 5 April 2 May 7 Relax for an hour with a furry friend! Angels Community Clinic Offering Basic Health Services to MSU Students The Angels Community Clinic of Murray and Calloway County was established in 1999 to provide diagnostic and treatment services to those people who do not have medical insurance or financial resources necessary to pay for private insurance and/or medical care. Services that are offered at the Calloway County Health Department (Immunizations, Pap Smears, birth control, STD diagnosis and treatment) will not be duplicated Students will be referred to the health department for those needs. We offer treatment of colds, flu, high blood pressure, diabetes, depression and other medical conditions, To be a patient at the Angels Community Clinic the MSU student would need to be a full time student (need a letter from the college stating that they are a full time student). If working, we would need check stub with year to date earnings (to identify low income), a picture ID is required (drivers license), or student ID, and a copy of lease or utility bill with the students name on them to substantiate residency in Calloway County. Our hours are Mon, Tues, Wed 8:30-4, Thurs 8:30-12. Closed Fri. Sat. Sun. It is best to call to reserve an appointment time. 270-759-2223 to be sure the Nurse Practitioner will be available at that time. Additional information can be found on the Clinic's website. Student Spotlight - Senior Elizabeth Hall
