The lesson's objective is discussed before the lesson in the classroom. What should be done to achieve the result and what required tools to use? Students go to the park working in groups. They select a pleasing object and measure its height by using four different methods and measure its real height. Each member of group used each method and from the received data they find the average. The groups discuss and estimate why they have got some wrong calculations. Using different methods students revise the definitions of trigonometric functions use the Pythagorean theorem, using IT tools. After analyzing the results they presented the group's conclusion, indicating each method's advantages and disadvantages and identifying some possible agents which produce wrong calculations. Each group chooses the most reliable method of calculation and uses it in practice. 2g 40 min. The lesson ends in the classroom. Students complete the results and prepare for conclusions.

The lesson took place in Joniškio town park it was led by math teacher A. Žilinskienė. After discussing methods students got the tasks, worksheets and tools. They worked in groups of four. The process, way of work and expected results were discussed in the classroom. The second part of lesson was organized in the town park.

Smart phone or tablet with a camera and apps “Distance and Height”, ruler, protractor, roulette – meter, stick, worksheets, writing and computational tools.
