Technology Integration

• Rationale:Children have an incredible sense of wonder when it

comes to many topics, especially snow. Snow can bring about challenges and can impact individuals in many ways. As an effective educator, it is imperative to teach students about snow, where it comes from and what it is. By incorporating various uses of technology, students can become engaged and interact with their learning. Through using the internet and other available resources, effective teachers can help students to learn about snow and its impact on our nation, all while meeting the needs of the 21st century learner. Some students may never personally encounter snow, which would make this lesson very informative and resourceful, which can only be enhanced through the use of technology.

Internet Content

• The internet provides students with the opportunity to become educated on snow, the way snow impacts the nation and even research statistics and safety tips that deal with the snow. Through the use of technology and the internet, students have the ability to learn information that goes far beyond that of the classroom and a textbook.

• All websites and resources used in this presentation are reliable.

• When using the internet, it is imperative to be certain that sites are from reputable sources. All material has been looked over to ensure information is up to date and correlates with desired learning targets.

– Way Too Much Weather

• This blog is specific to weather in the State of Connecticut, which can help students to understand weather on a state level. Ryan Hanrahan, the author, is a Meteorologist from NBC news station in Hartford, CT.

• Images of weather maps, charts, graphs and real life photos are available which helps students to conceptualize the information present in various forms.
