This year was no exception. Hegen enjoyed record-smashing success with a 55% increase in number of transactions at the recent Singles’ Day online event. In terms of total revenue across Tmall’s various platforms, the breastfeeding solutions brand enjoyed a whopping 91% increase from the year before. What was even more notable was a 1 million spike in number of visitors to the brand’s flagship store, bringing the total to just over 4 million visitors. This massive figure could be attributed to a heightened increase in online transactions due to the pandemic, and a possible baby boom this year! Since the start of 2020, Hegen has moved up from last year’s 2 nd place to now 1 st place in Tmall’s Bottle Feeding category. At the Singles’ Day event, the brand ranked 12 th in the overall Mother & Baby category (which includes diapers and milk powder), up 10 places from 2019. The bestselling product to fly off Tmall’s digital shelves is the Hegen PCTO™ Basic Starter Kit – the only SKU in the entire Mother & Baby category to surpass RMB 14,000,000 in sales, with close to 35,500 sets ordered in a day!

Live stream mania In the lead up to the Singles’ Day event, Hegen’s Founder and CEO, Yvon Bock, hosted a 3-hour marathon livestream on 9 November to promote the brand’s bestsellers, drawing an overwhelming 105,500 views. And on 11 November, Bock’s guest appearance on Tmall’s annual Boss Show garnered 58,600 views, making it one of the Top 10 Mother & Baby live streams for Singles’ Day. While Hegen’s speedy growth in the China market over the past five years has been giving its competitors a good run for their money, it does not intend to rest on its laurels. Innovation is key to continued success. In the months to come, the company will be launching new products to cater to the needs of older babies and toddlers, and intends to introduce bottle personalisation as an add-on feature. “It has become more apparent that parents are willing to invest in good quality and innovation over more competitively-priced brands. While we are pleased to reach the coveted No. 1 spot in Tmall, our mission remains the same: to help support and prolong the journeys of breastfeeding mothers.
