2019 Annual Meeting Highlights
Hebrews 11
The Nolachucky Baptist Association 192nd Annual Meeting was held on Tuesday, October 22 at Buffalo Trail Baptist Church, Morristown. The church did an excellent job hosting our meeting.
During the afternoon business session: 1) The Budget Proposal and the Nominations Committee Report for 2019-20 were approved, including the approval of
Rev. Gene Nelson as Moderator and Rev. Dannie Bell as Assistant Moderator. 2) The motions from the Credentials Committee recommending East Point Church, (sponsored by Grace Point Church)
and New Creation Community Outreach Church (sponsored by True Life Church) be admitted into the Nolachucky Baptist Association under watchcare were approved.
3) A Resolution of Gratitude and Support of Carson-Newman University in the naming of Dr. Charles A. Fowler as the 23rd Carson-Newman President and pledging support to pray for his leadership of the university was approved.
Two sessions of worship followed the order of business. Ministry reports were shared and Lee Allen Dalton of Buffalo Trail sang “Who Can Satisfy My Soul Like You” for special music. Rev. Tony Buchanan, pastor of Manley, brought the message entitled “Ridiculous Faith” from Hebrews 11:1-6. He encouraged those present to take on big tasks that seem ridiculous to others. Then we should live and function expecting God to intervene in those big tasks.
The combined choir, led by Lee Allen Dalton, sang “Our God is Greater,” “We Love You, Lord” and “At the Sound of Your Great Name.” Director of Missions, Rev. David Hawkins, shared his testimony of being led to Nolachucky Baptist Associa-tion ten years ago. He stepped out in faith, sent his resume and God opened a great door of ministry. He encouraged everyone to keep on effectively serving the Lord. Rev. Ben Shoun, pastor of Arrowhead, shared a message from Hebrews 11:1-10. The men listed in this chapter exercised their faith by their actions. It seems people today are more willing to trust Christ to get them to heaven than trust that He will be with them to go across the street to witness to their neighbor.

East TN Disaster Relief Teams Serve in Texas—Flood Relief
The team worked on mud-out, removing wet insulation and tear-out. Work was nasty but our team joyfully worked knowing we were doing what pleases Christ. We consider it an honor to serve through TN Baptist Disaster Relief so that people may see His love through us thereby giving us an opportunity to share the Gospel message. With a total of seven professions of faith, we are filled with a deep and abiding joy having had the opportunity to serve this week.
Responding to these disasters and keeping our equipment ready to deploy on short notice is expensive. If the Lord leads, please consider assisting with a financial donation. Donations can be made online (see back page for instructions) or brought by or mailed to: Nolachucky Baptist Association Disaster Relief, P.O. Box 326, Morristown, TN 37815.
