Heavybit Events Manager San Francisco CA Heavybit is looking for a creative and disciplined Events Manager to plan, organize and promote our SFbased event program. Heavybit has a busy and diverse events program: in the past year we’ve hosted two major conferences as well as nearly 100 educational, corporate and social events. As Events Manager you’ll be responsible for our overall events strategy and schedule. You’ll design the event calendar & formats and oversee the execution of events from small social events through to larger halfday conferences. About the RoleAs our Events Manager you will be responsible for delivering a rich and engaging events program for our thriving community of developers, founders and investors and partners. You will: Design Heavybit’s event strategy to support our goals & the goals of our member companies including: Producing high quality educational events for Heavybit founders & member companies featuring relevant mentors and advisors in regular talks, office hours, webinars and workshops; Increasing awareness and engagement of Heavybit and its member companies through regular meetups, hackathons, dinners and social events; Creating partnership, sales and business development opportunities for member companies through special VIP customer events and executive briefings; and, Accelerating member company recruitment efforts with targeted thoughtleadership and communitydriven events. Run Heavybit’s event operations including handson execution and dayof coordination. This includes: Managing budgets, contracts, permits and people resources for all events, working to maximize savings and impact; Coordinating event program and promotional materials including running advisory committees, speaker’s pipeline, abstracts; and, Managing dayof execution including food/beverage, venue compliance, staffing, AV, transportation, signage, SWAG and collateral. Build a strategy for relevant thirdparty community events and coordinate with event professionals, community managers and field marketers across Heavybit’s member companies. About You

Your social nature, fantastic communication skills, and attention­to­detail, make you the perfect person to rally a community. Heavybit’s Events Manager is a resourceful self­starter who is capable of juggling multiple projects on tight deadlines, while also caring deeply about the special touches that make a great event. You build experiences that educate, inspire, and engage attendees, and your thoughtful approach ensures continuous improvement over time.

Additional Requirements Minimum 5 years of event management experience in the developer, start­up or hi­tech community Strong strategic project management (people, budget and time) experience and organizational

skills including the ability to manage large budgets, teams of vendors and complex schedules Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution

skills Experience running executive briefings and/or sales events preferred Self­motivated and directed person, requiring minimal supervision for successful assignment

completion Demonstrated success in building measurable event marketing campaigns.
