Differential Pressure Control ValvesFeatures and Benefits

01 Hattersley DPCV

DPCV - SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TOOPTIMISE SYSTEM PERFORMANCEExtremely efficient, the DPCV is set to a maximumdifferential pressure limit, under dynamic balancingconditions, which ensures flow cannot exceed a desiredrate. It therefore helps reduce energy consumption, therisk of noise and simplifies the commissioning process.

The EPM diaphragm, which separates the upper andlower chamber of the valve, in combination with thebalanced piston is key to stabilising differential pressurewithin the system. The rubber-seated piston, controlledby the diaphragm, closes the valve on rising differentialpressure and opens it on falling differential pressure. Thevalve will continue to move in this way until equilibrium ofpressure is achieved. This ensures the maximum desiredflow rates or differential pressures are not exceeded.

Installing a DPCV in a system to control differentialpressure, can also help to minimise the risk of noise.

Installing a DPCV in a circuit ensures the system remainsbalanced, independent from any changes in other areasof the circuit, which greatly simplifies the balancing andcommissioning procedure. It also maintains the controlauthority of the 2 port control valve.

Available in sizes from DN15 to DN50, in flow and returnconfigurations, the DPCV operates at a temperaturerange of -10˚C to 100˚C and is PN16 rated. The pressuredifferential is set on installation, across a 20 to 100 kParange, and can be easily adjusted on commissioning asrequired by the changing conditions.

Hattersley highly recommends the use of a companionvalve as a part of the circuit. As well as providingstandard flow measuring and regulating features, thecompanion valve has an integral tapping point for animpulse tube to link the valve and the DPCV.

Diaphragm

Separates and balances the upper andlower chambers and therefore thedifferential pressure. The Diaphragmreacts quickly to fluctuation in pressure.

Impulse TubeAlongside the DPCV, an impulse tube andadapter are supplied as standard. It isessential to the valve’s performance as ittaps pressure from the other side of thecircuit and links it to the valve’s chambers.

Adjuster

Easily sets differentialpressure across a20-100 kPa range, and can be adjustedto maintain desiredflow rates ordifferential pressure, matching circuitconditions.
