Heart and Soul of NHEI Dr. Mohan Manghnani Birthday Celebration

What better than a day, when the great leader was born. The heart and soul of NHEI Dr. Mohan Manghnani Birthday was celebrated on 7th July 2018. On this auspicious occasion cake cutting ceremony was done and all the employees of the NHEI was invited on this occasion. A hearty warming music and dance performance was given by the expert team made the audience smile and enjoy with an unplugged performance.

Kargil Vijay Diwas was observed by the students of New Horizon College, Maratahalli on 26th July 2018 in Chanakya Seminar Hall. Kargil Vijay Diwas was named after the success of Operation Vijay. On 26 July 1999, India successfully took command of the high outposts which had been lost to Pakistani intruders. The day is celebrated on 26 July every year in honour of the Kargil War heroes and also to create a sense of patriotism

among the students of New Horizon College. The core committee organised a function dedicated to the Kargil War heroes. The event had 3 performances: a song dedicated to the real heroes of India, a mime performance and followed by a dance performance.

Fresher’s Day 2018 @ NHCM

Fresher’s day 2018 was organized exclusively for the fi rst year students by the students of New Horizon College, Marathahalli,on 16th July, 2018 in the college main auditorium. The event was held welcome the freshers and to help them step out of

their comfort zone and fi nd their voice. The fest acted as an icebreaker among the students. The very purpose of Fresher’s Day party is to welcome newcomers in a friendly atmosphere, and to encourage their creative impulses to boost their confi dence. It is the day where seniors and juniors get to bond and unite to celebrate being part of the college.The event was celebrated with much excitement as Mr and Miss Fresher were chosen. Mr Yatish and Ms Tina were crowned as Mr and Ms Fresher. The day also saw around 6 mesmerising performances put together by the core committee headed by Venkatraman V K and Rachana Dharmesh K.

Department of B.Com, New Horizon College, Marathalli,organized Investor Education Program (IEP) on behalf of BSE-IPF on 27th July 2018. The session was on “Capital Market Awareness, Introduction to Mutual Fund & Financial Planning” and was specially organized for the

Guest lecture @ NHCMB.Com students. The lecture was conducted by K Srinivasanwho is a qualifi ed company secretary with 25 years ofexperience in fi nancial market.

Intra-College Cricket Competition Report

An Intra-College Cricket Tournament was held by the sports captain of New Horizon College, Marathahalli.The inauguration ceremony took place on 20th July, 2018 and a total of 20 teams took part in the tournament. The tournament went on till 2nd August 2018. The chief guest for the inauguration ceremony was the HOD of the BCom department Ms Greeshma Francis and the HOD of the BBA department Ms Soumya J. The fi nal match took place on 2nd August 2018.

The winner of the tournament was V sem BBA(B) and the runners up V sem BCom (P&G). The principal of NHCM Dr R Bodisathvan distributed the prizes to the winners.
