Foods that are bad for your healthMost Fruit Juices• Fruit juice is often assumed to be healthy, but this is a mistake. Many fruit juices are actually little more than fruit-flavored

sugar water. It is true that the juice contains some antioxidants and vitamin C, but this must be weighed against the large amount of liquid sugar. In fact, fruit juice contains just as much sugar as a sugary drink like Coke or Pepsi, and sometimes even more. Alternatives: There are some fruit juices that have been shown to have health benefits despite the sugar content, such as pomegranate juice and blueberry juice. However, these should be considered as supplements, something you drink every day to quench thirst. (Nutrition, 2012)

Most pizzas

• Pizza is one of the world’s most popular junk foods.

• This is not surprising, given that it tastes awesome and is incredibly convenient to eat. The problem is that most commercially prepared pizzas are made with seriously unhealthy ingredients. The dough is made from highly refined wheat flour, and the meats on them are usually processed. Pizza is also extremely high in calories. Alternatives: Some pizza places use healthier ingredients. Homemade pizzas can also be very healthy, as long as you choose wholesome ingredients. (Nutrition, 2012)

Benefits of regular physical activityExercise controls weight

• Exercise can help prevent excess weight gain or help maintain weight loss. When you engage in physical activity, you burn calories. The more intense the activity, the more calories you burn. You don't need to set aside large chunks of time for exercise to reap weight-loss benefits. If you can't do an actual workout, get more active throughout the day in simple ways by taking the stairs instead of the elevator or revving up your household chores.

Exercise boosts energy

Winded by grocery shopping or household chores? Regular physical activity can improve your muscle strength and boost your endurance. Exercise and physical activity deliver oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and help your cardiovascular system work more efficiently. And when your heart and lungs work more efficiently, you have more energy to go about your daily chores

Sodas and Your Health

Why soft drink are bad for health? • All chemicals and sugar in drinks are bad and ruin health. While these drinks are addictive and out of them it

is very difficult but to be healthy and stay fit is better not to drink soft drinks because it contains a lot of sugar and can affect not only our stomachs but also our teeth causing cavities and if it becomes very addictive it can cause ulcers in your stomach and cause blood problems.

• Many people now consume many soft drinks but very few can have control over the beverages they consume.

Reasons to Visit Costa Rica

• Costa Rica is best known for its tropical rainforest and gorgeous beaches. Tourists from all over the world visit this country

because of its abundance of natural wonders like the Chirripo Mountain or the Arenal Volcano. This tiny Central American country also hosts some of the most exotic animals on earth, from the slow moving sloth to the vibrant toucan. Either way, most locals agree that Costa Rica is one of the most peaceful countries in the world (Winds, 2007)

Beautiful beachesDue to the warm water year-round and beautiful shorelines spanning two coasts, it is easy to see why Costa Rica’s beaches are ranked among the best in the world. Try to imagine perfect bays bordered by powder white sands, stunning blue-green waters and hilltops piled with greenery and flowing waterfalls. Tourists can swim, snorkel, kayak, or zip line, thanks to Costa Rica’s variety of beaches. (Winds, 2007)

Diverse CultureIf you want to learn about the history and culture of Costa Rica, consider a visit to one of their many museums. In the city San Jose, travelers can visit two important museums, including the Museum of Costa Rican Art and the National Museum. Both museums have a collection comprised of artifacts and natural specimens. Travelers can also explore the Guayabo National Monument, which features a 700 year old aqueduct (Winds, 2007)

Which it is the best choice for a holiday beach or mountain?

• I think the best option to travel with the family is the beach because it is fun and you can share a lot with the family. Also I think that is relaxing and is a good place for children to enjoy. The economy in Costa Rica • Prior to the global economic crisis, Costa Rica enjoyed stable economic growth. The economy contracted 0.7% in 2009, but

resumed growth at more than 3% in 2010. living

• While the traditional agricultural exports of bananas, coffee, sugar, and beef are still the backbone of commodity export trade, a variety of industrial and specialized agricultural products have broadened export trade in recent years. High value added goods and services, including microchips, have further bolstered exports. (living, 2016)

• Tourism continues to bring in foreign exchange, as Costa Rica’s impressive biodiversity makes it a key destination for ecotourism. Foreign investors remain attracted by the country’s political stability and relatively high education levels, as well as the fiscal incentives offered in the free-trade zones; and Costa Rica has attracted one of the highest levels of foreign direct investment per capita in Latin America. (living, 2016)

• Poverty has remained around 15%-20% for nearly 20 years, and the strong social safety net that had been put into place by the government has eroded due to increased financial constraints on government expenditures. Unlike the rest of Central America, Costa Rica is not highly dependent on remittances as they only represent about 2% of GDP. (living, 2016)

• The U.S.-Central American-Dominican Republic Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA-DR) came into force on 1 January 2009, after significant delays within the Costa Rican legislature. CAFTA-DR will likely lead to increased foreign direct investment in key sectors of the economy, including the insurance and telecommunications sectors recently opened to private investors. President Chinchilla is likely to push for fiscal reform in the coming year, seeking to boost revenue, possibly through revised tax legislation, to fund an increase in security services and education. Car Accidents in Costa Rica• I have heard a couple of stories over the past couple of weeks that enticed me to write this article.  With the increase of Marchamo I

wanted to know what this mandatory insurance actually covered or if it was just another tax for the government to spend as they want.  The more I researched and spoke to people the more disgusted I became

• For all of your car owners in Costa Rica or people that are thinking of bringing a car to Costa Rica, you will be required to purchase the mandatory liability insurance called marchamo for your car in order to make your car “street legal”.  But what does this cover you may ask? Not much, it is too low to be considered effective. It covers injury and death of people (pedestrians and occupants of the vehicle), victims of a traffic accident, whether or not the driver’s subjective responsibility. The amount of up to $12,000 per person killed or injured, which is not much. That is it.  And this is the only insurance that over 90% of the vehicles on the road carry. (accidents, s.f.)

• If you have driven in Costa Rica you will notice that defensive driving is not a characteristic of people on the roads.  Most accidents in Costa Rica do not involve personal injury or death, so you

• ask what if my car is damaged in an accident and it is not my fault? How is it repaired? Unfortunately, usually you are going to end up paying for it yourself. (accidents, s.f.)

• Here is a story I heard last week. A friend of mine was driving in Costa Rica with his two kids in the car.  The truck in front of him was a novice at driving a stick shift.  He missed a gear at the stop light and due to the fact he was on a hill the car rolled back into my friend’s car crushing the hood.  When the police arrived the three Costa Ricans told the police that he had run into the truck and because there was no one that could confirm his story he had to pay for both the damage to his car and the truck. (accidents, s.f.)

• Another accident where again the person not at fault then became the accused was a friend of mine driving in Guanacaste in his Jeep.  He was hit on the side of his Jeep by a motorcycle going at high speeds and spun his Jeep 180 degrees.  When the police showed up they documented everything and because the Jeep was turned 180 degrees the story did not “add up.” He is now being sued for damage to both the motorcycle and the rider. Costa Rica sports and recreation

• Let’s fact the fact, over 50% of the people that come to Costa Rica to vacation spend a major chunk of their time engaging is some type of sporting recreations. Costa Rica one day tours are popular,  whether it is water sports like surfing, diving, jet skiing, white water rafting or sports fishing to the leisure activities of horseback riding, biking, camping, playing golf or tennis, to the more demanding ones of, hiking, jogging and mountain bike  riding

On a  8-day trip to Costa Rica, 2-days were spent sports fishing, a day of white water rafting, the next a canopy trip, and a full day adventure before we left  viewing Arenal Volcano and ending the day soaking our tried muscles in the nearby hot springs. View our Blog on costa Rican vacation The country has a large number of national parks and nature preserves that boast a rich array of birds, mammals, reptiles, rain-forest plants. And those shelled creatures, turtles. Approximately 25% of the country's land has been set aside in protected areas, earning Costa Rica a reputation as an environmentally sensitive country and leader in ecological conservation
