surprising reasons
why you might not be6losing weight
surprising reasons why you
might not be losing weight6You are probably reading this because:
You have tried every diet under the sun and just keep putting on more weightYou have no energyYou are struggling with health issuesYou feel stuck! You know what to do but just can’t seem to do itYou just want to be HAPPY!
If any or all of the above apply to you, you’re in the right place!
Firstly…Why do so many people struggle with their weight?
We are told that to lose weight we need to DIET or "eat less and exercise more".
However, if you are like most women, you have probably tried every diet under the sun, and you know that this "dieting" strategy rarely works long term… In fact most women PUT ON WEIGHT after dieting.
Honestly, how many people do you know who have lost weight on a diet and maintained that weight loss for a year or more?
Some people might know of one or two. Most people don't know ANYBODY!
The sad fact is: Dieting doesn't work for most people.
So this eBook will give you 6 surprising reasons why diets don'twork, and more importantly… what does.

You don’t' have a BIG WHY1Whenever you change something BIG in your life you
need to have BIG reason to keep you on track.
So you get started on your health or weight loss program.
Motivation is high and you start seeing some results.
Then life gets in the way and you find yourself making excuses and not sticking to your original plan.
The problem is that willpower is a finite resource so when you feel your motivation waning, you have to make sure you have a
BIG reason to keep going.
WHY did you start the program?
WHAT are you hoping to achieve?
HOW will your life be better?
Know that your willpower WILL wane so you need to have strategies for when it happens:
Create a Vision Map and look at it regularly
Put reminders of your BIG WHY around your house
Remind yourself of the alternative
At the end of the day make sure you are doing what you are doing
for YOU.Not for your husband, not for your doctor, not for your kids.
Otherwise it is just not going to be sustainable.

"When you look at people who
are successful, you will find that
they aren't the people who are
motivated, but have consistency in
their motivation."
~ Arsene Wenger
Your weight loss is linked to
your HAPPINESS2Are you waiting to be happy and healthy WHEN you
lose weight?
For many people the problem is that they never hit the number on the scales they want to, or even if they do, then there is still something more they think
they "need" to be happy. So WHENnever happens...
Instead why not experience joy NOW? Think THEN, not WHEN.
If I am happy and healthy, THEN I can lose weight.
So… it sounds like a great idea
to become happier, but the problem is most of us don't
actually know HOW to be
happy! Happiness is a skillthat you need to learn just like any other. It takes time, practice and patience.
Try and find a positive in every situation, no matter how small
Focus on the present moment when you are anxious or afraid
Find something to be grateful for every day

is that a person can change his
future by merely changing his
attitude."
~ Oprah Winfrey
You are doing the
WRONG THING3Eating less and exercising more does not work for the
majority of people.
The reasons for weight gain are highly complex and individual.Humans are great at adapting to a changing environment, but over the last few decades we have been exposed to so many changes that our bodies simply can't keep up. We are basically mismatched with our environment!
And the end result is poor health, inflammation and
excess body weight.
But… every person's body is struggling with different things.
For YOU is it: quality of food, food sensitivities, sleep, a sedentary lifestyle, emotional or psychological stress, gut health, toxins, overeating, mindset, self-esteem, emotional eating???
Ignore all the experts – create your own personalised strategy
Experiment! It's the only way to find out what will work for you
Why are 70% of people now overweight?
So it's time to try something different!
No more diets, no more guilt, no more shame, no more obsessing…

over and over again and
expecting different results."
~ Albert Einstein
You cannot do it for the
REST OF YOUR LIFE4Whatever you do to lose weight, you need to do it for the REST OF YOUR LIFE to maintain your weight loss.
That is where most diets fail – sure you lose some weight but you
can't maintain it because you are depressed, hungry, and
constantly obsessing about breaking your diet…
If you lose weight using a method that you cannot keep doing – like starving yourself, weight loss pills, shakes or doing mad amounts of
exercise – eventually you WILL run out of willpower. And you know what happens then…
Instead find a way of eating, moving and living
that not only gives you results, but that you
enjoy and that you can see yourself doing for
the REST OF YOUR LIFE.
Every day do something you love to do
Don't do exercise you hate! Instead find a joyful activity
Eat delicious, real, living food that tastes great
And… Don't even try to be perfect!
You CANNOT be perfect for the rest of your life.
The guilt, shame and self-hatred that often come from making less
than perfect decisions are MORE stressful than the actual act!

Your HORMONESare out of balance5
Physical, mental and emotional stress are messing up your hormones and holding your fat stores hostage .
A stressor is something that disrupts homeostasis – the body's natural balance with the environment• "good stress" is acute & short term and once resolved the body
returns to balance• "bad stress" is chronic & long term and does not resolve, so the
body does not return to balance
Identify what stresses you – journaling is a great tool
Reduce your stressors – stop putting it off, say no
Better manage your stress – get outside, breathe, be active
And don't be afraid to let go and lose control. You can't control other people and situations. Ultimately you can
only control your reactions to other people and situations.
Chronic stress releases hormones that
promote many health issues and
diseases of which weight gain is but one.
Our environment now contains many cumulative stressors. And most people have very little awareness of theirpersonal stressors.

"Stress is the trash of modern life —
we all generate it but if you don't
dispose of it properly, it will pile up
and overtake your life."
~Terri Guillemets
Something is manipulating your
BEHAVIOUR6All the good intentions and right information will lead
to nothing if something else is controlling you.
There are many things that can unconsciously manipulate our behaviour. Here are some examples:
1. Food can be used to cope with strong emotions
2. Nutritional deficiencies can lead to high hunger levels
3. Too much sugar can cause energy crashes and cravings
4. Poor gut health can decrease digestion leading to hunger
5. Processed foods are engineered to be addictive
It can be very helpful to expect and prepare!
Don’t let yourself get tired and hungry and be prepared with
healthy alternatives.
So you need to identify your personal
triggers. What is driving you to make poor
food choices despite knowing better?
What is sabotaging your efforts despite your good intentions?
Identify your eating triggers – journaling is a great tool
Eat mindfully – get in touch with your hunger levels
Tolerate discomfort – sit with your feelings instead of eating

you aren't addicted to the
substance, you are addicted to
