elcome to DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital, the largest hospital in the Detroit Medical Center system. This guidebook is arranged

alphabetically and will help you quickly locate services within our main hospital and throughout Northwest Detroit and its suburbs. With over 40 specialties, 700 physicians, and more than 2,000 healthcare professionals, Sinai-Grace Hospital will provide complete healthcare for your entire family.

Sinai-Grace opened in 1999 when two hospitals with deep community roots — Sinai and Grace Hospitals – consolidated at the location of the former Mt. Carmel Hospital in Northwest Detroit.

As Sinai-Grace reinvents community healthcare, they also are investing in their community. Between 2012 and 2015, Sinai-Grace built a 59,000 square foot Emergency Department and two Intensive Care Units, and expanded its radiology, admitting, lab areas, and added a bright new lobby. As the largest hospital within the DMC, Sinai-Grace continues to grow to provide area residents with high-quality, compassionate and innovative care they deserve. In addition to the Detroit hospital campus, Sinai-Grace also operates eight specialty outpatient care centers throughout Detroit, Berkley, Farmington Hills, Southfield, and Oak Park.

Sinai-Grace Health Care Services:Located in Northwest Detroit, DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is a Level II trauma center with a 24/7 Emergency Department. The hospital offers a full spectrum of medical services and specialties, including two conveniently located outpatient surgery centers: Berry Surgery Center in Farmington Hills and Lahser Ambulatory Center in Southfield. The Sinai-Grace Professional Office Building, located next to the main hospital, also offers many specialty health services in addtion to a large Primary Care Center. Cardiac (outpatient) Rehabilitation ProgramThis medically-supervised program improves the health and well-being of people who have diagnosed heart problems as a result of a heart attack, angina, coronary artery angioplasty or stents, open heart surgery such as coronary bypass or valve surgery, heart failure, and heart transplantation. Cardiac Rehabilitation provides participants with the knowledge, motivation, and tools to fight the progression of cardiovascular disease.

Diabetes Treatment & Education The Sinai-Grace Outpatient Diabetes Education Program helps people with diabetes move toward a healthier lifestyle. The program is individually designed to help you take control of your diabetes and prevent long-term complications of the disease. Primary Care A primary care physician (PCP) will help you assess and manage your health issues. Sinai-Grace’s three primary care centers offer affordable preventive care, health education and medical management for adolescent, adult and senior patients. Our focus is on educating patients and making them a part of their healthcare team by participating in their plan of care. Many medical conditions can be prevented, managed or cured with early detection, proper intervention and patient compliance. Psychiatry & Mental Health ServicesThe DMC Sinai-Grace Crisis Center offers mental health services for adults including individual psychotherapy, family therapy, group therapy, and medication evaluation and consultation. We offer three levels of care:

Crisis Center/Intake and Emergency Program The Crisis Center is an emergency walk-in clinic for people in an emotional crisis.

After-hours and weekend therapist and physician services can be accessed through Sinai-Grace Hospital’s Emergency Department.

Inpatient Psychiatric Unit The Inpatient Psychiatric Unit, a 21-bed acute stay unit, provides voluntary and involuntary hospitalization. The goal of the unit is to resolve acute psychiatric problems that impact functioning and/or restore persons to their previous level of functioning as quickly as possible. Our team consists of psychiatrists, psychiatric residents, registered nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, mental health associates, clinical nurse specialists, care managers, consultants, recipient rights advisors, and students from various healthcare disciplines.

Stroke Center and Neurology Sinai-Grace is a designated Certified Stroke Center based on our comprehensive care, 24-hour emergency stroke response team, 24-hour neurologist staffing and our telemedicine capabilities. When minutes matter, doctors are able to quickly diagnose a stroke in person or through robotic computer technology. Our rapid response produces better outcomes for our stroke patients.
