The NEBOSH National Diploma is recognised anddemanded more and more by organisations worldwide asthe qualification for aspiring health and safety professionals.It provides delegates with the expertise required toundertake a career as a Safety and Health Practitioner and isthe first step to becoming a Chartered Health and SafetyPractitioner. The NEBOSH International General Certificate (IG) inOccupational Health and Safety is an internationallyrecognised qualification that will provide Managers,Supervisors and operational staff with a broadunderstanding of key health and safety issues andprovides the first step in developing a career in healthand safety.

The IG syllabus takes a risk management approachbased on best practice and international standards,such as the International Labour Organisation (ILO)codes of practice. Local laws and cultural factors formpart of the study programme where relevant andappropriate.

Assessment

There is one 2-hour exam for unit IG1 and a practicalassessment for IG2

Qualification Recognition

This qualification meets academic requirements forTechnical Membership (Tech IOSH) of IOSH andAssociate Membership (AIIRSM) of the InternationalInstitute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).
