• Implementation date March 23,2005• Includes ALL staff in MH Facilities whom MAY
have client contact• Agreement with SBI to coordinate background
checks (919)-662-4509 X6332 or X6366 National checks must be done by the SBI
• Staff signs Applicant Request for search to be completed
• Organization has fingerprinting cards completed
• Fingerprint cards and Applicant Request sent in to SBI by Organization
• SBI reviews, and notes if there are any " Hits”, either State or National. This information is released to DHHS, whom releases info to Organization, as applicable State hits can be released to the Organization. Organization will be notified if any National “hits” are found , cannot be released directly to the provider, but to the applicant. Applicant should discuss results with employer.

Subsequent commission by the person of another relevant offense
“The fact of conviction of a relevant offense alone shall not be a bar to employment; however the listed factors shall be considered by the area authority” Chapter_122C/GS
