HEADHUNTER TRANSLATIONS

CUT TO - EXT. BUSHES

Michelle looks back, running deep into the bushes. Shesuddenly slams into somebody, and falls to the ground with a

smile on her face.

MICHELLEJordan! I...

She looks up in horror to see that it is one of the Africanmen sent from the game, the younger MAN #1. He looks at herin disgust, and slowly raises his spear as she crawlsbackwards. He speaks in an odd dialect with a thick accent.

MAN #1(angry)

Ek sal jou doodmaak...wit duiwel. I

will kill you, white devil.)

She is unable to scream, but closes her eyes as the manbegins to bring down his arm. Suddenly, the older MAN #2grabs his arm from behind and stops his throw.

MAN #2Moet haar doodmaak nie. Sy is niedie een wat ons wil h nie. (Do notkill her; she is not the one wewant.)

The first man lowers his spear, but looks angry.

MAN #1Sy is in Jumanji oortree! Sy moetgestraf word! (But she has enteredJumanji! She must be punished!)

MAN #2(smiling)

Dit is nie Jumanji...die gode hetvir ons n taak gegee. (This...isnot Jumanji. The Gods have given usa sacred task.)

Michelle slowly stands up and faces the two.

MICHELLEJ...Jumanji?

The older man turns his head to Michelle and smiles.

MAN #2Sy weet die naam. (She speaks thename.)

MAN #1Sy kan lei ons na hom toe! (She can

lead us to him.)

The older man laughs, and taps his spear.

MAN #2Wat is die pret in die jag? Komnie. (Where is the fun in thathunt? Come now.)

The older man runs into the bushes. The younger man looks atMichelle in disgust, then smiles sadistically.

MAN #1

Jy is die eerste vrou wat ek injare gesien het...ek sal jou deurdie einde van die dag. (Youre thefirst woman I have seen inyears...I shall have you before theday is over.)

The younger man runs into the bushes as well. Michelle fallsto the ground in tears, terrified.

12. EXT. BUSHES - DAY

The unspoken African man, MAN #3, slowly makes his waythrough the bushes towards a tree, which has Marks backpackhung from it. He sniffs it, and looks around. Picking up hisspear, he turns around suddenly and hurls it into thebushes. What follows is the yelp of a dying hyena, and the

laughter of the rest of the pack, which seems to be comingfrom all directions.

MAN #3Lag hond...(Laughing dog...)

The pack bursts through the bushes and run at the man,tongues wagging in the breeze. He turns and runs through thebushes, but not very far. He runs straight into the sea ofants, which begin to climb up his legs and bite himrelentlessly.

MAN #3

(screaming)Vuur duiwels! Nee! Fire devils!No!)

The ants crawl up the mans legs and continue to bite, whenhe jumps back out of the sea and into the bushes. On hisback, he is brushing the ants off and screaming when a largedrop of drool hits him in the forehead. He looks up to seethe remaining hyenas looking at him.

MAN #3Ontferm, honde...vir Jumanji. (Havemercy, dog...for Jumanji.)

The hyenas roar and begin to devour the man alive, sharpteeth ripping his flesh from bone with ease. His screamsring out as Mark slips out and grabs his backpack from theground. He runs into the bushes, with the hyena too busyeating their prey.

EXT. CAMPSITE - NIGHT

Michelles face turns from delight to horror in an instantas she looks at Mark.

MICHELLE(screaming)Mark!

Marks headless body stares back at Michelle, and she letsgo of it immediately. The jagged stump on his neck bleedsslowly over his naked torso. She backs away in terror,finding herself next to the campfire. Looking into the pot,she screams again, this time louder.

MICHELLE(screaming)

No!

Marks head, now partially shrunken, is bubbling away in theboiling water. His eyes stare out at Michelle, look at pain

etched on his face forever. His mouth has been sewn togetherand there is a distinct green tinge to his shrunken face.

MAN #1Die sy duiwel! (The she devil!)

Michelle looks across the fire as the younger man, the onewho threatened her earlier, stares at her with rage etchedacross his face. Michelle does not hesitate, running backpast Marks corpse and into the bushes.

MICHELLE(hysterical)

No...no...no...this cant behappening...Mark...

Michelle crashes straight into the second, and older, man.Rather than scream, she falls to the ground and continues tocry meekly. He looks down at her, but doesnt kill her. Asshe looks up, he rolls his wrists as though rolling a dice,and then shakes his head.

MAN #2(reassuring)

Moenie bang wees nie...jy isveilig. Hy sal jou nie seermaak

nie. (Dont be afraid...you aresafe. He will not hurt you.)

An angry voice rings out from behind Michelle; that of theyounger man. He seems to be arguing with the oldertribesman.

MAN #1Sy is myne. (She is mine.)

The older man shakes his head again.

MAN #2Ons het wat ons het. Die wedstrydis verby. (We did what we had todo...the game is over.)

The young man looks disgusted, and points his finger at hisown chest.

MAN #1(extravagantly)

Ek is meer as n speletjie! (I ammore than a game!)

MAN #2

(sullen)Niemand is groter as die spel.(Nobody is bigger than the game.)

The older man takes out his dagger in a sign of dominance,and the younger man retreats into the camp. He turns back toher and waves her away, as if dismissing her.

MAN #2Gaan. Gaan voor...(Go. Gobefore...)

The man is cut off as the younger mans dagger forces its

way through his chest and out the other side, before beingcrudely taken out again. He drops to the ground, immediatelykilled. Michelle screams as the younger man looks at her andsmiles, walking towards her with devilish purpose.

MAN #1Jy is myne, sy duiwel. (You aremine, she devil.)

MICHELLEGet away from me!

Michelle jumps to her feet and begins to run into the

bushes. The man licks his lips and begins to chase her.

CUT TO - INT. BUSHES - NIGHT

Michelle crashes through the bushes in complete terror, withthe sound in the background indicating the man is not farbehind her. Ducking behind a tree, she stays completelysilent.

MAN #1(taunting, off-screen)

Jy kan nie van my verberg. (You cannot hide from me.)

As the footsteps get ever closer, Michelle puts the game onthe ground in desperation and grabs the dice. She noticesfor the first time that Marks token has demagnetized and islaying on its side.

MICHELLEPlease...help me...

She rolls, getting a 1 and a 4. Just as she is about toread the clue, she is grabbed from behind and thrown to theground on the other side of the tree, screaming her head off

and throwing her arms around in protest.

MICHELLE(screaming)

No! Let me go!

The man looks down at her with devilish eyes, holding herdown with ease, and rips her top off with his knife. Hestares down at her exposed breasts with sickening glee.

MICHELLENo!

The man places down his knife and begins to fondle Michelleaggressively. She kicks him in the groin and begins to run,but he grabs her by the ankle and tears her down again. Inan instant, he is on top of her and trying to rip off herpants.

MICHELLE(hysterical)

Fuck off! Fuck off! No!

On the other side of the tree, the clue is being written outfor nobody to read.

JUMANJIA mountain on which you can notclimb, a river in which you can notswim. The fiery pits of hell await,without the gates or evil hymn.

Without warning, the ground begins to shake again, but athousand times worse than that of the living plant. The manand Michelle both look a short distance to their right,where large cracks are appearing in the ground.

CUT TO - EXT. BUSHES - NIGHT

The man stares in horror as the hole in the ground growslarger, the glow of fiery red emanating from the depths.

MAN #1(scared)

Wat het jy gedoen? Wat het jygedoen?! (What have you done...whathave you awoken?!)

The man moves his knife to Michelles throat, still on topof her. He is standing up slightly, and Michelle has a clearview of his makeshift belt, which contains his weapons.

MAN #1Ons sterf saam, sy duiwel. (We die

together, she devil.)

MICHELLENot today...

Michelle grabs a dart from the mans belt, and stabs it intohis thigh. He drops the knife in pain and roars in surprise,dropping to the ground and convulsing. He stops moving andlays motionless, besides his eyes which move back and forthin anger.

MICHELLEGame over, asshole.

Michelle grabs the knife off the ground and rams it straightthrough the mans throat, leaving it there for effect. Hiseyes roll back and he dies, frozen to the spot. Michellesfocus now turns to the hole opening up only metres from her.
