Wow! 2011 was an unbelievable year at Turtle Point. Being apart of the 50th year and the many events which celebrated thatanniversary was a special honor for me. As I reflect on theprojects and events of this past year, I can only feel extremelyproud. We started off the year with the Marina project, whichadded a dynamic new dimension to our Club in addition tomaking our Marina safer. In 2011, our focus on children andfamilies continued with the addition of our Friday night “KIDZONE”, a Pirates & Princess Tea Party, a “Spring Dance” for ourMiddle School teens, and a new summer program “Camp TurtlePoint”. Although our 50/50 Membership Campaign missed itssomewhat optimistic goal of 50 new members, together we added 29 more members to our TPfamily. In this economy, I believe that was a great accomplishment. In addition, we launched afabulous new website which represents our Club well to prospective members, the localcommunity, and those considering relocation to the area. I am very thankful for the members andcommittees who participated and supported these and the many other events and projectsundertaken in 2011. In particular, I would like to thank Martha Truitt and Katherine Anderson fortheir tireless efforts and creativity in putting together what were the most beautiful Holidaydecorations at the Club in many years.

On behalf of the entire staff of Turtle Point, I want to thank the membership for very generouslysupporting our employees Christmas Bonus Fund. Our staff was extremely grateful. I would alsolike to express my personal appreciation to the many members who sent cards and stopped byto express their condolences. The passing of my mother unexpectedly during Christmas weekwas very difficult. The outpouring of support from the membership has really meant a lot. Also, for those of you who may not have heard, the Board of Governors has made the decision not torenew my three-year contract which will end April 30th. I am certainly sad to be leaving TurtlePoint. It has been much more than just a job to me. You are a wonderful, kind, and supportivemembership. I have sincerely enjoyed being a part of your Club and will continue to give you mybest for the next 90 days.

The long awaited last phase of our website, the members only “private” side will be completedthis month. I am very excited about all of the ways our new website is going to enhance andsimplify communications, reservations, payments, and much more. So watch your mail forinformation on how to log-in and begin to use the site. If you have changed your emailinformation since the membership update cards were completed last summer, please let usknow. You can simply send us an email with your change to [email protected].

I look forward to seeing you at the Club!Lori Chapman, CCM • Clubhouse Manager • [email protected]
