3) In the key Suffering Servant Song in Isaiah 53:4-6Gods Word makes this even clearer for us.Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered Him stricken

by God, smitten by Him, and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was

crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His

wounds we are healed. We all like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his

own way; andthe Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Here is the only sacrifice that

is adequate to atone for our sin. God Himself has offered it on behalf of us. His word then

calls us to repent, to turn from our reliance on anything of our own that we could offer for

our sin, so that we can embrace the sin offering that God has given. We are commanded to

believe on the Lord Jesus Christ so that we can be saved. (Acts 16:31)
