In gratitude for all that God has given us, we joyfully share from our treasure:

REGULAR COLLECTION: $ N/A ENHANCEMENT FUND: $ N/A

Feast of the Holy Family “Beloved, see what love the Father has bestowed on us that we may be called the children of God.” (1 JOHN 3:1) During this season of giving, let’s also remember the gifts that God has given to us, including the gift of making us His children. Are we as grateful for that wonderful gift as we are for all the material gifts we have received? How do we show our gratitude to God for the gifts He gives to us all year?

Once again I would like to thank you for the tremendous effort so many of you have shown in keeping your commitment to financially support this parish. Our income has increased significantly due to the large response from this caring, ded-icated community. I realize this has been a sacrifice for many of you but such a fi-nancial commitment is helping us address the many needs facing our parish today.

MASS INTENTIONS & CALENDAR FOR WEEK OF DEC. 30TH - JAN. 05TH

(Special Intentions)

Unexpected guests were on the way, and my mother, an impeccable housekeeper, rushed around straightening up. She put my father and brother to work cleaning the guest bathroom. Later, when she went to inspect it, she was surprised that the once-cluttered room had been tidied up so quickly. Then she saw the note on the closed shower curtains. It read "Thank you for not looking in the bathtub." (Reader’s Digest)

I hope you are recovering from the Christmas holidays knowing that we still have New Year’s on the horizon. Today we celebrate the feast of Holy Family- Jesus, Mary and Joseph, literally the perfect family. They never argued. Dad was never grouchy and Mom was always so agreeable and what can you say about their child? We may admire them but doubtless that we can match them. We just have too many quirks and weaknesses. We are just too human. Like the above situation we do a good job hiding our failings from others. The arguments, the bickering the mistakes and failures we try to keep out of others sight “thank you for not looking in the bathtub”. Those shortcomings are the stuff that make up families. We are not perfect. We do our best and sometimes not even that. Though imperfect our families should be places of acceptance, not enabling but of challenge. We encourage each other to be the best that we can be. Our families are places of forgiveness, offering and receiving it. Don’t let grudges and ill will take up residence at your home. Of course our families are places of love, not a mushy sentimental feeling that comes out for the holiday but is part of the fabric of your home. Love that puts the other person first, a love that sacrifices and a love gives of its time. May the Holy Family bless your family imperfect as it may be. Be at peace knowing that God does not look inside the bathtub, but inside your heart.

Our deepest sympathies go out to the family of: Carol Siedling

Church Office will be closed on the following days:
