Part of the Version 1.4 introduction was a new HDMI connector that had been introduced for future usage; and apparently the future is now…

The Type‐D or micro‐HDMI connector is found on small devices such as mobile phones or other hand‐carried devices.

The new HDMI spec is also expected to introduce Type‐D                     connectors that are smaller than the existing A and C types. 

They’ll be as small as the existing micro‐USB C connectors. Type‐D connectors are a Molex (Japanese) prototype.
