Nació en 1919 en Tierra Amarilla , Nuevo México.His long career as educator, writer, poet, essayists, critic and statesmen. He has received the Distinguished Flying Cross for having flown over 35 combat mission over Europe during World War II. 1958 he earned his doctorate in Spanish.
