ASSIGNMENT QUESTION / SOALAN TUGASAN

Task 1:

Interference, refraction and diffraction of light always create structural colors which we

called optical effect. They arise from the arrangement of physical structures interacting with

light to produce a particular color.

Structural color is responsible for the colors of the feathers of many birds (including the blue

jay, hummingbirds and pheasants), as well as certain butterfly wings andbeetle shells.

Gather information from different resources and explain how interference affects wings of

butterflies. Give examples using several types of butterflies. Explain how can you attract

students to appreciate the relationship between nature and science?

(10 marks)

Task 2:

An incandescent light bulb throws off light because it releases electromagnetic radiation

when the tiny wires inside are heated. Explain simple experiments that can be demonstrated

by building a simple incandescent lamp with a wire filament in a jar, a source of electricity,

and some copper wire.

(20 marks)
