DC Distribution Panels (DCDB) DC power systems are usually centrally located. A distribution system is needed to distribute the DC power safely among various load centres. DC distribution board serve this purpose. Depending on customer’s requirement, HBL offers integrated DC distribution boards with chargers or standalone DC distribution boards. Each DCDB is equipped with several load circuits, each of which is protected by an appropriate circuit breaker. Earth leakage monitoring devices are also offered as an option. DCDBs are delivered fully equipped & pre-wired, to terminate load connections directly after installation. DC systems need protection – and the DC distribution panel ensures that each circuit has that protection. In the event of an overload or short circuit, the panel is designed to disconnect the fault safely. HBL panels are type tested in independent labs to give you the confidence you need that your systems will be protected. HBL’s DC distribution boards are type tested at IPH Labs, Germany per IEC 61439-1 & - 2. Battery Isolation Switch

To facilitate ease of maintenance and protection of

battery against short circuit currents, HBL offers

battery isolation switches that can be installed close to

the batteries. These isolation switches can also be

delivered in explosion-proof panels for installation in

hazardous areas.

HBLCell BoosterIn a stationary battery system there are often hundreds of cells. It is not unusual for one or two cells

to display lower voltages than the average or recommended level – over time on float voltage,

cells can “drift” apart. HBL’s Cell Booster is a simple charger to selectively revive low voltage cells

and boost charge replacement cells before they enter service. Up to 6 Cells (Lead acid or Nickel-

cadmium) can be charged at one time. Potentiometers are provided to adjust the output voltage

and current to the levels required by the cells on charge.

The Cell Booster is portable for ease of use at site – powered from normal AC socket power. It is a

tool that every battery service team should have available.

Earth Leakage MonitorsUndiagnosed faults in the electricity supply can produce very high economic

losses. Monitoring and signalling of unwanted earth faults helps the utility

minimize outages.

HBL’s ELM in DC power systems enables quick detection of earth faults and

prompts the operator to take corrective action.

It works on the principle of residual or differential magnetising current

induced in a current transformer. Our ELM is used in DC power systems such

as battery chargers, AC-DC converter systems, DC-DC converter systems

and DC Distribution Boards. It provides the customer an ability to install

earth leakage protection systems in their installations at a reasonable cost.
