We all know when we are surrounded by a sup-
portive culture. We also feel the energy of a negative
culture when stuck within its walls. So what makes
the difference? That’s easy. We are the difference.
Each of us has a role in our family and business cul-
ture to create the kind that promotes support.
To create a culture of caring, we must care.
To create a culture of encouragement, we must
encourage.
To create a culture of success, we must stay the
course until we succeed.
To create a culture of friendship, we must be a
friend.
To create a culture of professionalism, we must be
professional.
To create a culture of happiness, we must first
choose to be happy.
As you can see the list can go on and on. However,
the bottom line is the culture we are in we helped to
create. The power to make it amazing is in our
hands. That’s the wonderful thing about family and
business culture; we can each participate in its
growth and direction.
The culture which surrounds us has a direct correla-
tion to our success and happiness. Companies with a
culture of support, learning and caring grow faster
than those without it. Building our financial future
works so much easier for those of us in EXIT Realty
because our culture fosters growth and success. It
all began with one person – our Founder, Steve
Morris. Each of us has been invited into his chosen
culture. He trusts us to keep it amazing.
My wish for each of you this holiday season is to be
aware of what you can do that will have a positive
impact on your family culture. Love more, forgive
more, smile more and most importantly, have fun!
Please don’t leave me alone in my belief in you.

Culture Makes the Difference Culture - what an interesting word. Depending on the group of people, the dynamics of their
culture can range from very positive to the complete opposite.

Leisey recommends striving for these goals in order to
drive a positive culture within your firm:
1. Have a leadership team that understands the im-
portance of and focuses on creating and maintain a
positive culture.
2. Have an attitude where everyone is there to encour-
age others to be better.
3. Leadership is open, where everyone feels like they
have a voice—all types of people can exist and prosper
within this space (not cult-like).
4. Allow for open communication that is authentic,
where people feel that there is a sense of trust, integ-
rity and honesty.
5. Leaders inspire, motivate and make everyone perform
at a higher level than they even thought possible.
