Letter from the Editors
We like to get started early preparing for the holidays and we know you do too. You enjoy having unique
knit and crochet decorations for your home and family. You spend your spare time creating one-of-a-
kind gifts that truly let the receivers know they are special in your life. And you make cozy gifts to keep
you and yours warm all winter long.
So we rounded up our very favorite projects just for you. We have bright jungle ornaments or classic
little sweaters and stockings for your tree and a granny square tree skirt—all wonderful additions to
your Christmas tree decorating tradition. The Holiday Balls Throw and clever kids’ hats make great gifts
for special people. If parties will be part of your calendar, you’ll want to make a knit or crochet bottle
cozy or the perfect holiday hostess apron. There is a special Holiday Cat collar too.
If you’d like to make a snowman without getting your hands cold, we have a snowman jar cozy and mug
hug—both are perfect to fill with sweets or other treats for office friends.
We hope you’ll love creating many of these projects with our popular Red Heart yarns and spread the
joy this holiday season!

GRANNY SQUARE (make 12)
Notes:
1. Make one granny square in each of the color
sequences listed.
2. Squares are worked in joined rounds with Right
Side facing at all times.
3. Ch-1 spaces are worked between the 3-dc groups
across 3 edges of each square. No ch-1 spaces are
worked between the 3-dc groups across one edge of
each square (the top of the square). This shapes
each square so that it is slightly narrower at the top
than at the bottom.
