DID YOU KNOW?
Cyberbullying could be affecng your child
In the summer, children may be spending more me
talking to friends online and sharing status updates on
social media, playing games, and more. The internet is
a great way to keep in touch with classmates while
school is out, but it’s also a place where cruel and
bullying behavior can be rampant. Talk to your children
about internet safety, and be vigilant about who they
communicate with and how they are acng. If your
child seems sad or depressed, it could be a sign that
bullying is going on. Unlike in school, you can’t walk
away from cyberbullying, and harmful messages can be
spread quickly. As parents, stay up to date on what
sites your children are using, and openly monitor
conversaons and messages if needed. Learn more in
the VIRTUS® arcle “Cyberbullying What is it, What
Harm Does it Do, and What can Adults do to Help, Part
Two?” at h.p://www.laarchdiocese.org/org/
protecng/Pages/VIRTUSCurrentOnlineArcles.aspx.
With most students returning to their home
parishes during the summer, we depend
more upon your generosity to help meet
our needs, especially since weekly
collections have been low.
