INTRODUCTION
Haulage management system is the system which allows and simplifies the process of transportation of goods in the community by the transportation company. A company has several properties that it needs to keep its details, there are drivers employed in the company and customers who trade with the company. So from these the company needs to keep document of each of the property it owns, customer details and employed drivers to the company. All these can be done in a more convenient way by using a Haulage Management System which can simplify data storage, retrieval, processing and the decision making by the administrator.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
The currently used system has got so many problems which lead to inefficiency performance and lack of effectiveness in company operation. Such problems brought about by the manual paper based system used are as follows:Manual system caused the company owners
to spend a lot of time and resources in finding vehicles details, planning and setting routes, and assigning vehicles and drivers to routes.

Customers are faced with difficulties in making transactions like ordering, and viewing their transportation requests whether they have been accepted or not.
At the time when the customer wants to cancel his/her order requests, it becomes difficult to contact the company for his/her request to be processed as they are required to contact physically the managers so as to make a transportation request.
The company fails to store and manage its data for proper and efficient decision making.

VALUES OF THE SYSTEM
It is a promising future growth of haulage companies as it has automated most of the company business processes.
The system assists managers in decision making such as transportation decisions.
The system helps to input company and customer information.
Low initial and running cost, secured haulage, the system will serve large proportion of population.

LIMITATIONS OF THE SYSTEM
The system does not meet the following: Online payment of orders like the use of advanced payment such
as PayPal, credit cards and direct mobile phone payment. Implement a mechanism to manage order changes which seems
to affect the HMS operations. Integrate a HMS with a warehouse so as to simplify the process of
transportation. Integrate the system with mobile phone in such a way that
customers can place order by using his/her mobile phone even without internet connection.
Integrate the system with GPS(Global Positioning System) so that trucks can be managed when on road so as to ensure security of the goods, trucks and drivers.

NON-FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Accessibility: The system should allow access to the system by its users on the basis of the access privileges they have been given. After being granted access to the system they should be able to navigate within the system and perform the roles required for them.
Interface: The interface should be user friendly so that user can navigate with easy without acquiring any special system use training.
Reliability: The system should always be available, that is the rate of failure occurrence should be low with low probability of unavailability.
DEMONSTRATION

CONCLUSION
The overall requirements specification for the system and the proper working of the system to a hauling working environment has proven successfulness of the system as the gap that existed before the development of this system has now been filled through the usage of a Haulage Management System as all requirements of users has been met.
