Since 1939, New Leader® has had one goal: to build the best. New Leader’s first product was a motorized sled, an early snowmobile, used to pull a sleigh carrying people and provisions, replacing the need for a dog sled team. The first product was named New Leader, because it replaced the “leader”dog that led the pack. Now, the New Leader brand name is used for agricultural spreaders. Our long-standing history has made New Leader the leading brand of crop nutrient applicators.

New Leader products are manufactured in our state-of-the-art facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. From the initial design to the finished piece, New Leader uses the latest technologythroughout the entire production process. The product line is built aroundquality and performance. New Leader and John Deere have teamed up toprovide professional grade dry applicators that are versatile and easy-to-use. New Leader spreaders produced for John Deere chassis aredesigned by our in-house engineering department to fit John Deere’s exact specifications.

Both models are MultApplier-ready and can be easily converted to broadcast multiple products. Designed with bolted-in endgates and stainless steel hydraulic connections, this optional component can be added to or removed from the NL200G4 and NL300G4 with minimal effort. The dual hopper system features two independent conveyors that can simultaneously apply two products at predetermined or variable rates.

Available in painted 409 stainless steel (green paint with John Deere decals) or unpainted 304 stainless steel (New Leader decals), both the NL200G4 and the NL300G4 feature the G4 variable rate broadcaster, which revolutionized the spinner spreader industry and has proven to spread materials faster, wider and more accurately.

Ideal for spreading fertilizer or ag lime, the NL200G4 features a 200 cu. ft. (5.6m3) capacity hopper, allowing operators to broadcast fertilizer from 75 lbs/acre (84 kg/hectare) up to 3 tons/acre (6.725 tonnes/hectare) of ag lime while consistently achieving spread patterns with swath widths from 60' (18 m) to 105' (32 m) with fertilizer and up to 60' (18 m) with ag lime.

A 30" (76 cm) wide heavy-duty conveyor with a #4 belt-over-chain is designed to effectively dispense materials and minimize bridging. An easy-to-access conveyor drive shaft and bearing make maintenance and tension adjustment simple.

The NL300G4 is the ultimate high capacity fertilizer spreader with a 300 cu. ft. (8.5m3) hopper able to hold up to 10 tons (9,072 kg) of product. The G4 spinner assembly allows the NL300G4 to broadcast fertilizer at rates as low as 50 lbs/acre (56 kg/hectare) to as high as 1,100 lbs/acre (1,232 kg/hectare) and still maintain an accurate spread pattern up to 105' (32 m).

The #5 straight belt provides smooth, consistent delivery of material to the spinner assembly, and doesn't require a conveyor chain or chain oiler, reducing maintenance and labor costs. A 30" (76 cm) 3-ply belt provides the durability and strength needed for hauling and applying load after load, year after year.

The New Leader spread pattern test kit is an invaluable tool to determine effective spread widths. It's quick, easy and provides accurate spread pattern results.

Spread pattern testing is an important step when applying product with a dry applicator. Pan tests should be performed to properly adjust the spread pattern. Spread patterns are affected by many factors including spinner speed, material size and weight, rate of delivery, spinner disk positioning, wind, humidity and several other factors. Trial and experience must be used to determine the adjustments that should be made to obtain optimal spread patterns.

The New Leader SGN & Hardness Test Kit helps you determine particle size and hardness of the productbeing applied. This is important as the size of the material effects the distance that a material can bespread, along with a relationship to how wind may affect the pattern. In addition, the product hardness also effects how much energy (spinner speed) can be applied to the product.
