8 Langhammer Tissue Solutions Layer Palletizer PA8

Use and Function

The high speed PA8 Palletizer is powerful, very compact and thus particularly suitable for highest palletizing performance of displays and bundles. With the ZF50 Infeed, the processing of small and large bundles of all commercially available sizes is possible. With two modules up to 200 packs per minute can be palletized. No other palletizing sys-tem on the market can attain this speed within a floor space of only 270 sq ft / 25 m². • the infeed turns and arranges the product according to the chosen program• the format pusher composes layers and the completed layer lies on the split apron above the palletizer shaft• then the complete layer is lowered onto the pallet • the pallet lift drives down, the split apron returns to its starting position and the next layer is formed • automatic placement of interleaves either from a pallet, roll or dispenser is optional • the completed pallet is discharged from the palletizer at the same time as the next empty pallet is fed in

Use and Function In a unique combination of conveyor element with layer gripper TheWave can take complete product layers from the conveyor lane and place them safely on a pallet, regardless of product and layer configuration. TheWave is thus of optimal use in the tissue industry. Unlike common systems which use fork or clamping grippers the compact design of TheWave saves an enormous amount of space. Depending on the application it can be used with a variety of machines.

The process is simple yet fascinating:

• a gentle wave movement in the conveyor belt allows the split apron to securely take up the product layer• a four-sided compression exactly aligns the layer formation on all sides • resting on the gripper floor and secured through the compression the layer is transported safely to the waiting pallet and gently placed unto it

Benefits

• reduction of the footprint by more than 40% in comparison to fork grippers • pressureless, gentle product handling of a complete layer

• handling of unlimited layer configurations (gaps, full or half pallets) with a single gripper • format parts are not required, which reduces complexity and creates warehouse space

• Can be combined with:

Use and Function

There are a multitude of grippers for palletizing tasks with robots which can be used for almost all tissue products: kitchen household towels, hygiene papers, handkerchiefs, napkins, paper towels, large rolls of cleaning towels and much more. Even when it comes to special products, the possibilities are almost limitless, for example, boxes, displays and foil bundles/bundles of many kinds can all be processed. The rightly chosen gripper determines the palletizing result.

• the task determines the type of gripper used • the more complex the palletizing task, the higher demand on the gripper• top priority is gripping the product safely and not to damage it during the palletizing process • exceptional products require special grippers – we develop special solutions - Contact us!

The following grippers can be used for palletizing applications:

• Suction Gripper • Clamp Gripper • Fork Gripper • Layer Gripper

Benefits

• wide range of grippers for a variety of applications

• clean pallet configuration through the use of the correct gripper

• format changes can be carried out on most grippers without changes on the gripper itself

• interleaf and pallet handling in connection with many grippers reduces the number of required machines

Clamp Gripper GR24 Springy carbon fingers gently clamp the product on opposite sides. Due to the high quality servo drive technology, the gripping and placement movements attain high speeds and thus a high palletizing capacity and accuracy.

Fork Gripper GR25Products such as boxes, displays, foil bundles/bundles can be palletized with the universal fork gripper GR25. With additional devices on the gripper interleaves or empty pallets can also be handled.

Layer Gripper GR27With this universal layer clamping gripper, comple-te layers of different products are handled. Both palletizing and depalletizing tasks can be done.

Clamp Gripper GR40Boxes and cases in different formats can be palletized with the clamping gripper. Interleaves can be placed with this gripper as well.

Gripper Systems Langhammer Tissue Solutions 17

Box Grippr GR16 With the suction gripper for boxes, groups of boxes can be picked and partially placed. Thanks to the many separately controlled suction zones, the gripper is able to alternately pick boxes in different formats

Use and Function

The bundlers CMB202-LA01 and CMB202-LA02 are packaging machines for bundles which successfully combine the fl exibility of robot techno-logy with proven packaging technology.

• series arrangement of product grouping, formatting and foil packaging• in the grouping area product groups are brought into the desired format with the help of a gantry robot• completed formats are transported to foil wrapping via conveyors• the format pusher pushes the bundles into the form shoulder, where they are wrapped, sealed and separated• optional stacking of two or three fl at packs on top of each other• fl exible grouping of program controlled bundle confi gurations via gantry robots• formats can also contain rotated bundles• diverter separates incoming packs from a single lane onto 2 tracks to achieve higher speeds• optionally an uprighter can be positioned in front of the bundler

Benefi ts

• minimal changeover times (especially from fl at to upended products)

• completely new formats with differing pack orientation are possible, resulting in optimal pallet usage and branding display on all sides

• enables higher number of production hours even with smaller product batches

• brand advertising even without extra printed bundle foil possible

• open controls concept (Siemens or Rockwell technology)

Task

They are absorbent and almost indispensable in every household: kitchen household towels. In order to avoid reaching the performance limit in a tissue packaging line, Langhammer offers powerful solutions that can be integrated into your existing space. Examples of extensive require-ments for a new installation are:

• high flexibility with very short changeover times

• performance of up to 20 large or 180 small bundles per minute

• very compact design due to limited space

• integration into the existing periphery

• bundle lengths of 48" / 1200 mm must be easily processed

Solution and Function

The solution consists of small bundle transport from the wrapper to bundle upright, as well as a bundler of the CMB202 type with a Langhammer robotic pre-grouping of the LA02 type.

• bundles leave the wrapper

• during the transport an inkjet printer marks individual packs

• bundles are upended and grouped into a given formation

• encasing of the formed group into a single bundle (Casmatic sealing technology)

• large bundle leaves bundler via the modular belt of the feeder

• assembly of the layer and centering by means of two pushers

• transfer of the complete layer onto the modular belt of the pick position

• gentle and secure take up of the layer with TheWave via the palletizing robot PRO04 and placement onto the pallet • second Z-axis of the PRO04 palletizing gantry robot handles empty pallets and interleaves

• interleaves either off the roll or as sheets are available alternatively

• transfer of the full pallet together with pallet data onto the waiting pallet truck
