Harbortouch EMV/NFC Payments Update Integrating NFC and EMV technology is an extensive process that requires various development steps as well as an independent certification from each card brand. Due to the industry’s recent EMV liability shift, the certifying entities are overwhelmed with requests and facing considerable backlogs. For the benefit of our sales partners and customers, we have updated our targeted release dates to better manage expectations based on the certification delays. These target dates are realistic, but they are still reliant on third parties so are subject to change. We will update this schedule each quarter as necessary. HT Echo can complete PIN Debit, EBT, and NFC transactions with the VX-805 PIN pad. All card brands are pending certification. Tip adjust requires an independent certification on each card brand. HT Retail can complete PIN Debit and EBT transactions on the 1000SE. HT Retail will accept EMV and NFC with the VX-805 PIN pad. This will replace the existing PIN pad when EMV certification is complete. HT Hospitality systems will use the semi-integrated SP30 PIN pad to accomplish EMV with tip adjust. SP30 will require HT Hospitality 3.7; existing merchants will require a software update. Tableside 3.0 features an integrated EMV card reader for pay-at-the-table functionality. HT QSR & Delivery transactions are primarily “card not present” due to the nature of the delivery industry and phone-based ordering. HT QSR & Delivery systems will use the semi-integrated SP30 PIN pad to accomplish EMV with tip adjust. All card brands are pending certification. The Electronic Cash Register (ECR) will integrate EMV and NFC payments using the SP30 PIN pad. Existing ECRs will require an update, new SD card, and may require new equipment.
