C.R.A.M. (Christ Reaching Asia Ministries)

We at CRAM Worldwide are thankful for the opportunity to extend God’s hand in

Rajin, North Korea, an area populated by over 150,000 peo-ple. Only through God’s grace, guidance, and provision (thru the hearts of HIS people) can the CRAM Worldwide projects and outreaches continue to meet the needs of the people. Lives are being changed! The Morning Star Children’s Home (orphanage) opened in Rajin in 2006. Thru that project, 15 workers/caregivers onsite meet the needs of 85 children (from 1-17 years of age), providing a home, clothing, daily meals, and other needs in a loving/Christian environment. To comply with Rajin City regulations, children must leave the Morning Star Children’s Home when they reach 18 years of age and must enter the workforce to ‘make their own way.’ In North Korea, there are three working classes: Class #1 consists of youth with excellent health, stature, and education; they are considered for the North Korean Army and the chosen candidates leave the area and serve for 10 yrs. Class #2 is comprised of youth in fairly good health, capable, and educated; the government assigns them to jobs in various work locations, such as hospitals, schools, rail-road, etc. Class #3 includes youth whose health condition is poor and who are slow in learning; it is very difficult (and sometimes impossible) for them to find employment. Many young people leaving the Morning Star Children’s Home fit the criteria of Category #3. Because they do not have family or friends to help them through the transition, they are in a most difficult situation with literally ‘no place to go’ except to live on the streets! Our hearts have carried a heavy burden and desire for a facility where we can pro-vide living quarters and other needs while these youth re-ceive vocational training to prepare them to work in their community and earn a wage to provide for their personal needs. Our hearts are filled with joy as we plan the Morning Star Home for Youth Dedication Ceremony scheduled on June 30, 2011. God has provided a 6 story structure which will soon be in full operation. The facility has 64 residential rooms (each can be shared by up to 3 program participants, for a maximum capacity of 192 individuals). Young men and women will receive training in trades (such as bicycle repair, carpentry, bricklaying, sewing, etc.) and in various skills/manners (to work in restaurant food preparation and/or service, in motel cleaning and other service, etc.) At the conclusion of their training, participants will leave the Home for Youth equipped to work and be self-sufficient … and the opportunity will open for others to come to the Home for Youth and receive training! We are eager, stepping forward in faith to cross this new threshold of opportunity that will bless and encourage the youth/young adults in North Korea.

Welcome … New Member We rejoice with Logan

Severance who made his de-

cision to accept Christ and

was immersed on May 1st at the close of the

morning service. He has attended Novesta all

his young life. Logan is the son of Lyle &

Heather and they live at 5872 Florence Drive in

Cass City. He has two brothers, Vaughn and Dy-

lan.

Please pray for others who also need to make

this commitment to Christ.

Our older kids (Sarah Zmierski, Alison Blatt-

ner, Trent Loomis, Kayla Zmierski & Luke

Koepf) have had a terrific regular season. The

teams have finished 1st in each month of compe-

tition and have been at the top of nearly every

test.

The team competed at the Round Lake Re-

treat in Ohio and were undefeated in both the

Round Robin and Single Elimination Tourna-

ment.

Their season now continues with tourna-

ments throughout the country beginning June

9th-12th at Kentucky Christian, then the John-

son Bible College tournament is June 20th-23rd.

The team will finish their season with the Na-

tional Tournament in Cincinnati July 3rd-7th.

FOOD PANTRY

SUNDAY

June 12 Listed are the items that we are low on and that seem to go fast. Sugar, mixed vegetables, beets,

hamburger helper, carrots, jam & jelly. If you would like to donate any food items just bring them and place them on the foyer table or on the kitchen cupboard. Thank you in advance for your generos-

ity, you are a blessing to those who are in need.

Camping In The Sanctuary

Ever thought about sitting around a campfire,

singing songs, and enjoying a time of fellowship and fun, but without the mosquitoes, the fear of rain, and lack of a proper restroom? Well here’s your chance!

On Sunday June 5th during our morning worship service we’re giving you this opportunity. So come dressed as you would for an outdoor camp-fire (brought inside) to enjoy a morning of camping fun as our worship team leads us in those ol’ campfire songs and Nev shares with us a camp-fire message.

Bug spray not needed, just bring a positive spirit and a heart ready to worship our Lord.

HAITI MISSION TEAM

COLLECTING ITEMS

Our Haiti Mission team is preparing for

their mission trip that leaves July 2 through

the 11th. The suggested items they would like

to take with them are: Snack Crackers, Pea-

nuts, Dried Fruit Snacks, Peanut Butter, Gra-

nola Bars, Peanut Butter/Crackers, Soap,

Small Toothpastes, Toothbrushes, etc.

There is a large box under the table in the

foyer for collecting these items.

PS: They also need socks to use for puppets.

Men/Boys Fishing Retreat

June 3-5 A fishing retreat is planned for this coming

Friday thru Sunday at the Tomahawk Creek

Floodwaters Camp Grounds between Atlanta and

Onaway. The campsites are $15 per night. There

are bathrooms and pumps for water but no elec-

tric hookups. Bring your tent, camper, or sleep

under the stars. I guess they are planning on

catching a lot of fish cause they’re having a Fish

Fry on Saturday night.

It should be a great time of fishing, food and

fellowship. If you have any questions, see Larry

Thick.

SAGINAW SOUP KITCHEN June 17 ~ 8:50 a.m.

Sign up on the bulletin board in

the middle hallway if you’d like to help.

PRAYER

MINISTRY

SPEAKS “For the which cause I also suffer these things: never-

theless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have

believed and am persuaded that he is able to

keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.” II Timothy 1:12 (KJ)

Spend time in prayer and please make these

your prayer requests for June 2011:

• Pray for us to always keep in mind it is not our strength but God’s strength that helps us through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:13

• Pray for us to be committed to live within our cash means and getting out of debt. Romans 13:8

• Pray for us to believe in God’s Word and believe in its power to receive what we ask according to His will. Mark 11:24

• Pray for us all to reflect the Lord’s glory. II Corinthians 3:18

• Pray for us not only to read a verse but act on it by agreeing with your shouting out loud what that verse does in your life. Jeremiah 29:11

• Pray for us to become a child of God with few words that will bring us to the point of our prayers like Jesus said in scripture about the fig tree in only nine words. Mark 11:14

• Pray for us to prosper as our soul also prospereth. III John 2

Remember,

Guardian Angels, This is our church family, we should all pray

every day for all of God’s children,

be faithful in your prayers.

Community Prayer Topic: Pray for our community to believe that God today is calling

for an awakening of His people, not only here but all the world. God will hear the cry of the righteous.

A special note from me to you: We must learn to put God’s Word first place in our lives, to believe it, to act on it, and speak it out of our mouths.

Woodburn Mission TripWoodburn Mission TripWoodburn Mission TripWoodburn Mission Trip

On Saturday, July 9th, a group from our church

will be traveling to Fort Wayne, IN for a long

weekend mission project. Woodburn Christian

Children’s Home is a ministry that provides a

family for teens and children that are homeless

or have other special needs. During the trip we

will be roofing a pantry, building shelving,

painting, cleaning, and working hard to help

the organization. The cost for the trip is $199

per person, and we’re asking everyone to sign-

up for a firm commitment by June 8th. A

‘NEW’ sign-up sheet has been posted in the cen-

ter hallway. At that time we’re also asking for a

$50 deposit for each person going. If you have

any questions, please talk to Brad Speirs.

Promotion Promotion Promotion Promotion SundaySundaySundaySunday

On June 5th, we will be promoting our

kids to their new classes. On that

day, please take your kids to their cur-

rent classes and then we will be com-

ing around to ‘graduate’ each group to

their new classes. Kids that are

graduating are those who are turning

4, going into 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th

grades.

BIBLE LEARNING PROGRAM

Starting June 5th, our 4 year olds

thru 4th graders will start earning

points to qualify for the end of sum-

mer water park party! Each child

will be receiving their own study

booklet and we’ll keep the points

posted in the kids’ hall. Kids can

earn points by attending, bringing

their Bibles, inviting their friends, and memorizing

verses. The Water Park Trip day is August 27th.

DVD SERIES MISSING The DVD series “Love and Respect” is missing

from our church library. If you have it and are fin-

ished with it, please return it to the library. (If you

are still using it, just let the office or our librarian,

Ellen Speirs, know so that we know where it is).

By the way, have you checked out

our Library lately? There is a lot of

good reading in many categories like

Bible commentaries, fiction, devotion

booklets, children’s books, crafts. etc.

Also in the Library are DVDs, Videos, CDs, Puz-

zles, Bible on cassettes, and many more.

Why not stop in and check it out?

SUMMER CAMP!!! It’s not too late to sign-up your youngsters for summer camp at Rock Lake or Wolver-ine. There are registration forms and info in the middle hallway and we’d love to help send your kids to camp. The church will cover half the tuition costs for your child to attend either Rock Lake or Wolverine. The truth is: Kids that go to camp grow closer to Christ...isn’t that worth it?

Worrying about things you can’t change is like a rocking chair…………

It gives you some-thing to do, but it doesn’t get you anywhere.
