Trinity Sunday Today’s Readings First Reading: Ask now of the days of old: Did anything so great ever happen before? Was it ever heard of? (Deuteronomy 4). Psalm: Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own (Psalm 33). Second Reading: You received a Spirit of adoption through whom we cry, “Abba, Father!” (Romans 8). Gospel: I am with you always, until the end of the age (Matthew 28). Readings for the Week Monday: Pt 1:3-9; Ps 111:1-2, 5-6, 9-10c; Mk 10:17-27 Tuesday: 1 Pt 1:10-16; Ps 98:1-4; Mk 10:28-31 Wednesday: 1 Pt 1:18-25; Ps 147:12-15, 19-20; Mk 10:32-45 Thursday: Zep 3:14-18a or Rom 12:9-16; Is 12:2-3, 4bcd-6; Lk 1:39-56 Friday: 1 Pt 4:7-13; Ps 96:10-13; Mk 11:11-26 Saturday: Jude 17, 20b-25; Ps 63:2-6; Mk 11:27-33 Sunday: 24:3-8; Ps 116:12-13, 15-18; Heb 9:11-15; Mk 14:12-16, 22-26 Saints and Special Observances Sunday: The Most Holy Trinity Monday: Eighth Week in Ordinary Time; Memorial Day Thursday The Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Friday: St. Justin; First Friday Saturday: Ss. Marcellinus and Peter; Blessed Virgin Mary; First Saturday Scripture Reflection Today is a day simply to ponder the fact that in baptism we were claimed by God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The first reading from Deuteronomy prompts us to fix in our hearts the truth that God is the Lord of both heaven and earth and there is no other god. Saint Paul reminds us that, because we received the Spirit of adoption in baptism, we are now chil-dren of God. In the Gospel Jesus charges us with the responsibility to make other disciples. These realities make today’s solemnity a day of praise, adoration, and responsibility. It is a fitting day to thank God for the absolutely free gift of faith that we were given in baptism. It is also a day to ask God for strength to take on the responsibility of sharing that faith with others. Archdiocesan Family Prayer Loving and faithful God, through the years the people of our archdiocese have appreciated the prayers and love of Our Lady of Prompt Succor in times of war, disaster, epidemic and illness. We come to you, Father, with Mary our Mother, and ask you to help us in the battle of today against violence, murder and racism. We implore you to give us your wisdom that we may build a community founded on the values of Jesus, which gives respect to the life and dignity of all people. Bless parents that they may form their children in faith. Bless and protect our youth that they may be peacemakers of our time. Give consolation to those who have lost loved ones through violence. Hear our prayer and give us the perseverance to be a voice for life and human dignity in our community. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. Mother Henriette Delille, pray for us that we may be a holy family. Amen. St. Catherine of Siena Parish Prayer God, Our Father, we thank you for our parish community of St. Catherine of Siena. Thank you for the many blessings that you have given us, but especially for calling us to serve as disciples of your son, Jesus Christ. As we gather today, we ask that you send your Holy Spirit to guide us in everything that we do. Transform our hearts and lead us closer to you. Help us always to seek to be a parish that is Centered on Christ and Ablaze with Love. We ask all of these things in the name of Jesus, and through the intercession of our Blessed Mother. St. Catherine of Siena, pray for us!

Two Hearts Masses and Consecration: June 8, 9 As we thank God for another busy school year and look forward to summer together as family, may we turn our hearts to spiritual nurturing as well, with a special Consecration Prayer. You are invited to bring your family to Mass on Friday, June 8, 9 am, in honor of the Feast of the Sa-cred Heart of Jesus, and on Saturday, June 9, 9 am, in honor of the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Let us entrust our loved ones to the tender, loving care of Jesus and Mary. Blessed images of Jesus and Mary will be available after both Masses. This even is sponsored by St. Catherine’s Family Life Ministry. SVdP 2018 First Quarter Report The Society of St. Vincent de Paul would like to thank everyone who contributed to our ministry of helping the poor! In the quarter that included January, February and March, we spent over $16,000 aiding more than 1,700 people. This included helping families with their bills, buying and giving out groceries and individual lunch bags, serving food at Ozanam Inn, and calling Bingo at St. Anthony Nursing Home. We sent $4,700 to help other parishes with their clients, and one of our members tutored at the SVdP Adult Learning Center. Thank you, too, to the Women's Club and the Boy Scouts for their help! We find our ministry very rewarding, even though it can be difficult at times, and we welcome anyone who may be interested in joining us! SCS Middle School Counselor Position
