Hansen Creek Pedestrian Bridge Project #WA402131 What and where is the Project? This project will replace an existing 20-foot long pedestrian bridge with a new 80-foot long by 10-foot wide bridge that will be constructed downstream of the existing bridge at the Northern State Recreational Area near Sedro Woolley. What is the intended outcome & benefit? Due to continued scour of the west bank of Hansen Creek upstream of the existing 20-foot bridge, the current bridge will need to be removed to allow for a wider channel. By replacing the existing bridge with a new 80-foot bridge the stream channel will be allowed to continue its natural course. Project Status & Timeline: Construction will be late Summer of 2014. The project is scheduled to be completed in the Fall of 2014. After the installation of the new bridge has been completed, crews from Skagit County Public Works will remove the existing bridge and construct a log revetment. This is anticipated to take place in the summer of 2015. How is the project funded? The Project will be funded through a partnership between the Skagit County Drainage Utility Fund, the Skagit County Parks Department and the Upper Skagit Indian Tribe.
