DESCRIPTION
Petition against turning another winton family home into an HMOTRANSCRIPT
InTouch May 2012
8 HANKINSON ROAD
PLANS HMO Bournemouth Council recently introduced
a new planning requirement to protect the
residenal amenity of your area. This means
that landlords now need planning
permission to change a family residenal
home into a House of Mulple Occupancy
(HMO), which is o!en used for student
le"ng.
The owner of 8 Hankinson Road has
applied for such permission and your local
councillors are objecng to this applicaon
on your behalf. However, we need your
help. Councillor Stra*on is organising a
peon which will increase our chances of
ge"ng this applicaon refused. If you wish
to object please send your objecon to
theo.stra*[email protected] as
soon as possible.
The planning board will discuss this
applicaon on the 21st May at the town hall.
If you wish to a*end and speak against the
proposal, one of your local councillors can
advise you on the procedure.

P.S. IT IS POSSIBLE!
Last month, the planning board made its first refusals under this new rule. Applications for both 26 Sedgley Road and 101 Ensbury Park Road were turned down thanks to the help of local residents, who were represented at the planning board by Councillor Theo Stratton.

LATE NIGHT NOISE SERVICE IMPROVING A reminder: if you suffer late night noise from nearby parties, help is at hand.
The council operates a night time noise line on 0800 0281870. This usually operates on a Friday and Saturday evening between the hours of 10:00pm and 02:00am.
Due to the popularity of this service, the council is currently recruiting 2 more
environmental health officers to extend this service to other nights of the week (to be decided).
The University supports this initiative, and takes robust action against students who refuse to comply. To date they have fined several students for anti-social parties.
