ABOUT TODAY’S MUSIC

Introit Keep Your Lamps! Words and Music: Spiritual

Arrangement: Andre Thomas

Keep your lamps trimmed and burning, the time is drawing nigh. Children don’t get weary ‘til your work is done.

Christian, journey soon be over, the time is drawing nigh.

Offertory Fanfare for Christmas day Music: Martin Shaw

Gloria in excelsis Deo.

Sing Gloria Words: John Cowley

Music: Katherine K. Davis

The shepherds sleep among the sheep, all silent they lie, When clear and strong there comes a song from angels on high.

Sing Gloria in excelsis! Jesus is born!

Now hark and hear this word of cheer, and be not afraid. In humble guise the infant lies, in a manger laid.

The shepherds heard the wondrous word the angels did sing,

And travelled then to Bethlehem to worship the king.

We follow them to Bethlehem, our Savior to greet. Our hearts we bring, an offering to lay at His feet.

Anthem Climb to the Top of the Highest Mountain Words: adapted from Isaiah 40

Music: Carolyn Jennings

Climb to the top of the highest mountain, joyous tidings proclaim to the world, Lift up your voice, shout the good news: Behold your Lord comes to you. He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will carry the lambs in his arms. He will ever keep them safe from harm. Behold your Lord comes to you.

He who made the stars in the heaven, He who fashioned the earth and the sea, From time eternal, he was God, the Alpha and Omega, He. Behold your Lord!

He will come in power, He will rule with mercy and truth. Hope of all the nations, Light of all.

He will love the little children, he will hold them in his arms. Love and trust him as a child, behold your Lord comes to you.
