In addition to Part I (General Handout for all courses appended to the time table) this portion

gives further specific details regarding the course.

    Course No : CHEM F376/ F377

    Course Title : Design Project

    Instructor-in-charge : RAGHU NATH BEHERA

    1. Scope and Objective of the course:

The course is specially designed to provide an opportunity to the students to take part in design

of products/processes/software in specific areas, to develop independent thinking, to involve in a

focused study/computational work of a specific area and to develop report writing and

presentation skills which will provide them a platform for the future higher academic activities.

As a part of the curriculum this project course is centered on the day-to-day involvement of the

student in the design/laboratory/computational activities in the proposed area of work under the

supervision of his/her instructor. The evaluation will recognize this aspect by demanding

continuous assessment of the involvement and punctuality of the student.

    2. Plan of Work:

  • 5. Grading Procedure:

Grading will be done on the basis of the progress made towards the achievements of the projects

objectives and will recognize that each instructor has given specific task situation in which the

student participates in a cognitive manner. Thus each Instructor will recommend a grade for his

student on the basis of marks obtained for the consideration of the Instructor-in-charge. In a

specialized course of this nature the respective Instructor's assessment of the student vis-a-vis the

objective of the project would be the central criteria for arriving at final grade. It is also

recommended that for the final seminar and evaluation at least one other faculty member from

    the department should be present.

    6. General:

It is the student's responsibility to ensure:

    A. Continuous interaction with the Instructor B. Adherence to the plan of work C. Submission of reports on/before due date

    7. Notices:

All notices related to this course will be put up on course page on moodle. It is requested that

student check the moodle page for new notices.
