Women’s
Institute!
After 88 years, the Women’s Institute Handcrafts and Arts Exhibit at the
Provincial Exhibition is vibrant and inspiring. Many people tell us it is a
highlight of the exhibition not to be missed. I encourage your participation so
we can continue this tradition of showcasing our diverse talents. Encourage
your family, friends and neighbours, both new and experienced, to enter.
The Premier’s Craft Education Award is a great incentive for someone to
further their training in their chosen craft. Anyone who has exhibited at this
Handcraft and Arts Exhibition for a minimum of two years may apply. This
award is in the form of a bursary to be used “to enhance skill and
proficiency in a chosen craft and to share experience with others”.
Make sure you read and follow the rules and regulations and take note of any
changes in the Classes/Sections you are entering. We are always trying to
ensure things run smoothly and responding to suggestions by our exhibitors and
judges. Pay particular attention to the deadlines.
It takes many volunteers to make this exhibit the success that it is. I would like
to take this opportunity to thank all of the volunteers, judges, exhibitors and
special prize sponsors. Although many of our exhibitors and volunteers are WI
members, it is not necessary. If you would like to know more, contact
information is on the previous page.
See you at the 2012 Exhibition.
Sincerely,
Carol Connick
Exhibition Chairperson
