Efficiency, functionand effect...The lighting function and effect must bedetermined prior to selecting a fixture.

Lighting forgeneral, accent and waiwashing applications require unique lightdistribut on...control is the key forefticient, effective lighting. Each methodis achieved with specific designobjectives. Some of these are inherent

within lamps used in fixtures. lvlore often,

however, it is acombination of lamp typeand the fixture that maximizes efficjency

and creates the desired liqhting eifect.Halo fixtures are designed aroundspecific lamps to achieve that efficiency.

General service "A" lamps...A-lamps requ:re rellectors to ellective y

Halo commitment tomaximum performanceand safety...During the past five years thelncandescent lighting industry has seena significant change in thermalandeleclrjcal testing requirements. This s theresult of potential hazards associatedwith the misuse of insulatlon. Changes tothe National Electric Code and in

Underwriters' Laboratories testingprocedures have necessitated addiUonaltesting procedures. This testing is

required for every trim and housingcombination available in the product ne.

The Halo test laboratory is a 4,000square foot facllity that s staffed

with experienced engineers andtechnicians. The ab is equipped withcontrolled environmental conditions andstate oflhe art instrumentsto conductresearch on temperature and its effect on.nalerial degradation. All Halo proouclsare tested to meet or surpass requiredstandards and codes.

Halo is proud 10 be aleaderinthedevelopment of recessed incandescentproducts that provtde maximum safety.

Halo resolved that the most effective longterm solution tor both misuse of nsulationand over-lamping problems was the useof integral thermal protection.

The development of an lntegra Thermal

Protection Systern for each Halo productis an extensive procedure. Dtverseproduct designs require varying thermalprotectorvalues that must be properlylocaled on each housing.

These extensive lests are performed

on ourpremises in oneofthe mostadvanced e ectrical and thermaltestinglaboratories in the country.

ln addition to thermaltesting, Halo alsoanalyzes lighting fixtures for performance

and efficiency using a sophjsticated in-house photometric laboratory. Customdesigned computer programs and state-of-the-art equ jpment allow preciseevaluation of proposed lightinginstallatrons.
