AZEMAD began its activity in 1966 and is currently present in both domestic and international markets for the past five decades. Presently it has three business areas: FURNITURE –CONTRACT- SPORT.

AZEMAD FURNITURE focuses its core business in High End furnishing as well as decoration, Besides its vast knowledge acquired since 1966, it has a proven and experienced team of architects and decorators, skilled in developing unique pieces meeting the clients requirements, offering an unconditional support from the design stage, to the construction phase, all the way up to the customization of each manufactured article.

The forward thinking and innovative spirit of AZEMAD has always motivated the company to engage new challenges, placing it at the cutting edge of technology and industry, all the while having a sustainable production based philosophy.

As a result the firm had the opportunity to show its presence in the 2014 and 2015 editions of Maison& Object. It has however gone into a small hiatus these last few years. Nonetheless and in order to reach a boarder scope and visibility, AZEMAD would like to be present once more but this time around in the January edition of Maison et Object. Memoir Essence Interiors tell a story from a life inspired in the feminine essence. A life inspired in every detail lived through a feminine world, this world brings the most exquisite imaginary. Having jewelry, fashion, architecture, music, art and materials as inspirations, capable to make these memoires to be “written” into an exquisite furniture, upholstery, lighting and accessories collection.

The use of noble materials like marble, brass, veneers, gold and silver leaf, Swarovski crystals and many other decorative and exquisite materials, combined with handwork techniques as casted brass, hand-whickered fabric ribbons, gold leaf appliance, marble cutted and puzzled pieces, provide us the needed essence to tell “memoires” with this collection.

This luxury handmade collection, made in Portugal, brings handwork techniques that are part of Portuguese history, applied in a current and differentiated way, delivering timeless pieces to any special project. The story started to be “written” in 2016 when an inspired female interior designer aimed to pass on to a collection, all the inspirations she gathered through her projects, country and experiences. After an hard work on the inspiration and handwork techniques selection, also finding the perfect match between both a first appearance happened at Maison et Objet, Paris, 2016.

Since there, the brand has been “writing” its memories adding new materials, designs, techniques and appearances around the world, as in Paris, London or Russia.

OIA Design was born in Oiã, Portugal, partly in thanks to BARMAT’s knowledge and experience, so OIA counts with the best quality craftsmanship and materials.

Plaisance company was born with the entrepreneurial spirit of its founder José Martins, cabinet maker as profession in France, with a good knowledge of the furniture aimed to create collections inspired by the tradition of the finest furniture crafted in Europe.

The aim of quality in the manufacturing process as well as in the field of design is one of the company’s engines.

Much of its production remains artisanal and emphasizes manual work in a concern of perfection which makes each piece of furniture a unique piece to adapt to the demands of the most demanding customers.

The selected woods are mainly cherry and oak from France.

Plaisance exports most of its production, mainly to France.

La société Plaisance est née grâce l’esprit d’entreprise de son fondateur José Martins, ébéniste de métier en France, ayant une bonne connaissance du meuble, dont l’objectif est de créer des collections inspirées de la tradition des plus beaux meubles fabriques en Europe.

Le parti pris de la qualité dans le processus de fabrication aussi bien que dans le domaine du design est un des moteurs de l’entreprise.

Une grande partie de sa production reste artisanale et met en avant le travail manuel dans un souci de perfection qui fait de chaque meuble une pièce unique.

Les bois sélectionnés sont principalement du merisier et du chêne de France.
