Permits to climb the Half Dome Cable route are required to ascend the cable route

on Half Dome on all Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Federal Holidays from May

21, 2010 to October 17, 2010.

Individual permits will be available for a $1.50 service fee through

www.RECREATION.gov beginning March 1, 2010. Permits will be available for

summer 2010 dates as follows:

For permit dates in:  Permits go on sale on: 

May and June 2010 March 1, 2010 (10 am ET)July and August 2010 April 1, 2010 (10 am ET)September and October 2010 May 1, 2010 (10 am ET)

300 permits will be available for each date. Permits are not required at this time

for ascending the cable route Monday – Thursday (except for federal holidays).

The following pages are a guide to the permit workflow so you will know what you

need to do before hand. High demand is anticipated for these permits.

It is very important that you sign in to your Recreation.gov account before 10 am

ET (or sign up for an account if you are new to this website).

IMPORTANT!If you are already a member – click Sign In. If you have never signed up

before, you must first Sign Up.

Recreation.gov will NOT hold your permits until you have successfully signed

into your account. You should do this BEFORE the on-sale time of 10 am

eastern time.

Once you have clicked the Book Tour button, your tickets will be held for 15 minutes to allow you

time to complete the transaction. (The system will only hold your tickets if you have Signed In!)

You will need to have a credit card to complete the transaction.

You can complete this page prior to 10 am Eastern Time. The Book Tour button will not allow you

to proceed beyond here until exactly 10 am ET.
