Primary Role: to complete a master’s thesis project on mindfulness and individual differences by conducting a literature review, developing methods, recruiting participants, analyzing data, and writing results. Some data were presented at the Society for Personality assessment conference (SPA, March 2016). Assisted in a literature review regarding negative emotions in the workplace and mindfulness. Graduate Researcher: Psychological Assessment Lab Villanova University Primary Investigator: John E. Kurtz, PhD

Primary Role: to assist in two master’s theses that validated the Social Cognition and Object Relations – Global assessment (SCORS-G), conduct an independent research

project with the SCORS-G, and train two other students on using the SCORS-G with projective assessments. Assisted in laboratory studies and data collection and analysis of other ongoing projects focused on personality assessment. Working with a local Veterans Affairs Medial Center to examine predictive factors of burnout in clinicians by developing a survey and administering to participating clinical psychologists on staff. Attended the Society for Personality Assessment conferences in March 2015 and 2016, presented posters at both conferences, and served as a student volunteer in 2016.

Undergraduate Researcher: Training, Attitude and Personality Studies Lab The University of Tulsa Primary Investigator: Bradley Brummel, PhD

Primary Role: to assist graduate students in their studies by running participants, coding videos and other sources of data, and attend weekly lab meetings. Exposed to industrial-organizational psychology topics such as work-life balance and the use of personality assessments in the workplace.

Undergraduate Researcher: Neuropsychology Lab The University of Tulsa Primary Investigator: Michael Basso, PhD, ABPP

Primary Role: to assist a doctoral student with a study regarding memory, emotion and learning. Created computer stimuli for the study and received training for multiple psychological assessments.

Co-Investigator: Caring and Healing Modalities Brigham and Women’s Hospital Primary Investigator: Pat Reilly and Teresa Buchanan

Primary Role: to conduct a literature review, create methods and write a research proposal for a study examining auricular acupuncture and work-related outcomes for emergency care workers. Attended acupressure classes and weekly rounds.

Work Experience Program Evaluation Contract Worker The Corzo Center for the Creative Economy, The University of the Arts Supervisor: Neil Kleinman and Todd Hestand

Conducted a program evaluation for the Corzo Center that examined entrepreneurial and business skills content learning and self-efficacy outcomes of their student body. Collected and coded all relevant data, conducted a statistical analysis, presented relevant information in a PowerPoint presentation and a written document to be used for a grant proposal.

Non-Profit and Educational Consulting Intern Pedalogical, LLC Supervisor: Justine Haemmerli, MA

Attended meetings with Justine to assist in program evaluation and educational workshops for Philadelphia-based non-profits. Worked on an independent project aimed to establish a Reiki service of Pedalogical.

Skills Due to my thesis project and my work in various research labs at universities and hospitals, I am proficient in all stages of the research lifecycle, including: literature review, developing methods, data entry and coding, statistical analyses with SPSS, summaries, and presenting relevant finding in written documents and oral presentations. My research and academic experience has allowed me to learn Microsoft Office tools and SPSS in depth. I have received and renewed CITI training through Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Villanova University, and I value ethical behavior in practice and in research endeavors. Being involved in multiple ongoing projects at Villanova and in the Philadelphia community has taught me excellent time management and project management skills. I am entrepreneurial, self-directed and an avid learner.
