In 2015, the community came together as Hailsham suffered a water main burst in the height of the summer. A social media account was created to keep every one in the town informed of the latest news regarding the water supply.
Soon after, thousands of people in the town had joined and it was soon realised there was a lack of reliable local reporting when the town really needed it.
Now in excess of 11,000 members, the move was made to publish a website to compliment the interesting stories and information that was being posted in the group by residents, so Hailsham.News was created. In 2018, the website received almost 340,000 page views.
Combined with our social media outlets, Hailsham News has a very loud voice in the town, cover-ing issues that really matter to the people who live here.
We are dedicated to keeping Hailsham people shopping locally - our businesses in the town are more important than ever.
