Page 2: Haikus

An old silent pond...

A frog jumps into the pond,

splash! Silence again.

Basho (1644-1694)

Over the wintry

forest, winds howl in rage

with no leaves to blow.

Soseki (1275-1351)

No sky

no earth - but still

snowflakes fall.

Hasin

The valves of my heart

Wither with the falling leaves

Of a cold winter
