Held at the Regal Kowloon Hotel, Tsimshatsui East, HAFFA Chairman Brian Wu of BEL International Logistics Limited chaired the meeting, attended by members of the organisation. Commented Mr. Wu: “The last 12 months have been amongst the most crucial in the history of the Hong Kong logistics industry. A number of key changes to global industry operations have tested the agility and adaptability of Hong Kong freight forwarders and logistics operators. With the support and input of its members, HAFFA has been able to rise to these challenges with timely, considered and vigorous responses. There is much more to be achieved in the year ahead, and I am grateful for the continuity the two-year Executive Committee term brings, enabling us to build upon all we have accomplished on behalf the industry so far together.”

HAFFA EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE TWO-YEAR TERM

CONTINUES AFTER 2018 AGM

The Hongkong Association of Freight Forwarding and Logistics Limited (HAFFA) Executive Committee embarked upon the second half of its current two-year term following the Annual General Meeting held on April 27, 2018. Held at the Regal Kowloon Hotel, Tsimshatsui East, HAFFA Chairman Brian Wu of BEL International Logistics Limited chaired the meeting, attended by members of the organisation. Commented Mr. Wu: “The last 12 months have been amongst the most crucial in the history of the Hong Kong logistics industry. The AGM included presentations by two guest speakers on important industry issues. Executive Director, Corporate Development of the Airport Authority Hong Kong, Mr. Wilson Fung, spoke on the subject of ‘Before the Third Runway’, addressing the issues of dealing with over-capacity before the completion of the new runway in 2024. Hang Seng Management College Associate Professor of the Department of Supply Chain, and Information Manager and Director of the Policy Research Institute of Global Supply Chain, Dr. Stephen Ng shared his insights on ‘Logistics and Trade Facilitation in the Greater Bay Area”, a highly topical subject and one discussed at length during the recent Boao Forum. Each HAFFA Executive Committee serves a two-year term, an initiative introduced in 2011 to ensure continuity in implementing the Association’s vision and policy, and to optimize HAFFA’s manpower and resources. The next HAFFA election will be held in 2019 for the 2019/2021 term. At this important time for what is a key element of Hong Kong’s economy, HAFFA will continue to energetically communicate its members’ views and concerns at regional and international levels, while advocating the interests of the industry at home.
