Sri Guru Granth Sahib (633)

“One who grieves not in misery and delights not in pleasure,

who is free from fear and attachment,

and for whom gold and dust are the same;

Who has renounced both praising and blaming (flattery and

slander) and is immune to greed, worldly

attachments and pride; One who has discarded all

desiresand lives a detached life,

lust and wrath touch him not and in that heart the Lord dwells;

When the all Merciful Guru blesses a disciple with His Grace, only then does the disciple attain

this blessed spiritual state and blends (merges) with the Lord as water with water.

Sri Guru Granth Sahib (1186)

O mother, I have been blessed with the wealth of God’s Name.

My Mind is free from wandering and is established in peace.

Avarice and worldly love dare not touch me

and pure divine knowledge fills me. Greed and desire can not affect me.

I am totally immersed in Lord’s devotion.

Fear of transmigration deserts when blessed with the jewel of Lord’s

Name. My mind is free of all desire and I am

totally absorbed in bliss. He to whom God - the Ocean of Grace

- shows mercy sings the praise of the Lord of the

world. Nanak says: Rare is such a person

who amasses this kind of divine wealth with the grace of the Guru.”

And Janeu of the HindusHe performed a unique act

in the age of Kali;He made a supreme sacrifice for the

sake of the men of other faith. He gave up his head without a groan;He did this deed to defend Dharma.

He gave up his head but not his resolve.Casting off his bodily vesture on the

head of Suzerain of Delhi;He departed to the Realm of God.None who came into this world performed glorious deeds as he.

Tegh Bahadur is gone !This world cried, “Alas, Alas!”

The Heaven rings with Hallelujahs !Jai Jai Victory to Dharma,

Welcoming his return Home !The angels sing:

Both Ram Chander and Ravan perished despite having support of large families. Nothing is everlasting in this dream-like world.
