Gulf Coast Regional Chapter Historical Issues and Future Plans of GCSOT We would like to continue to focus on undergraduate/ graduate student and postdoc presentations during our annual meetings, which will be a great opportunity for students to practice for national meetings. This has been the case in the past and should continue. We hope to not only to have the annual meeting, but also frequent discussions and seminars via the Webinars. For example, lectures given by prominent toxicologists in the Gulf Coast region will be organized and available for viewing by students, postdocs, and faculty members alike. We would like to increase and encourage more research collaborations and discussions within the sister insti- tutions. We also plan to have a joint meeting with the South Central Chapter sometime in 2011, and we could make this an annual/bi-annual meeting, in addition to the annual GC-SOT meeting, which occurs annu- ally. Eventually, we would also like to incorporate a half-day session for all Gulf Coast Chapter members to meet informally at the Annual SOT meetings to initiate dialogue and set the stage to exchange new projects, ideas and interests.
