Pharmaceutical industry is growing at the rate of 8.5% per annum. Export by Indian Pharmaceutical
Company is also growing appox 6.2% per annum. This indicate that, industry is progressing and
obviously they need more human power to match up the growth, but he pointed out that, in the
current scenario, industries are facing difficulty in fetching quality human resource, who are not
only technically sound but also possess good soft skills. He mentioned that currently candidates
who are approaching to industry; usually they are lacking in their attitude. He advice to all students
that they have to develop their contributor ship attitude, so that industry can appreciate their efforts.

Honb. Dr. Akshai Aggrawal sir, Vice chancellor of GTU in his presidential speech mentioned
that, GTU has taken many initiatives to bring novelty in research projects done by M. Pharm
students, which include centralized examination, incorporation of Patent Search & Analysis Report
(PSAR) and so on. Further GTU has also introduced “Contributor Personality Development
(CPD)” program for all UG students to develop their positive attitude as well as enhance their soft
skills. Further, he mentioned that, if still industry perceives that students are not trained properly,
then at GTU level we will do introspection from our side to improve quality of research. However
industry should also do introspection to keep themselves ready for new challenges and should not
recruit less trained candidates when qualified B.Pharm and M.Pharm are available. The recruitment
of qualified trained people will also boost up growth of generic pharmaceutical companies.

Feedback of industry representatives:
“This is really appreciable steps taken by GTU to bring down different Pharmaceutical companies
on a single platform. Secondly I found that students of GTU are quite better in terms of their
technical knowledge as compared to students of Rajasthan and Karnataka, wherein recently I have
conducted many interviews. I congratulate Dr. Akshai Aggarwal for this initiative.” – Shri
Rajendra Bodani, MIL Laboratories, Vadodara
“It is welcoming step taken by GTU to invite industry and students of multiple disciplines on a
common platform. This will reduce administrative burden on industry to explore potential
candidates. Simultaneously students also get common platform to select their desired job profile in
desired company. So we wish that GTU should organize such program on frequent basis to fulfill
the requirement of Pharmaceutical industries.”- Mr. Ashok Chaudhary, Geevet Remedies,
Mehsana
“It is appreciable steps taken by GTU. So far we were going to different pharmacy colleges across
the state to get good candidates for our requirement. Now as GTU has invited pharmacy students of
different specialization at central level, it will be now easy for us to screen the candidates at a
single platform. I wish that this placement process should be done on regular basis by the
University.”- Mr. Harshad Srimali, Apollo Pharmacy, Ahmedabad.
“I would like to appreciate steps taken by GTU. Simultaneously I would like to suggest that
University has take some steps to develop positive and contributory mind set of students to get a job
in industry apart from technical learning. Such kinds of candidates are more useful to industry than
a person who is highly technically sound but lacking in attitude and aptitude.” – Mr. Ketan Naik,
Astral SteriTeck Pvt Ltd., Vadodara
“In the last month, I had to approach to many Pharmacy colleges for candidates required for our
company. Due to this Centralized fair, it would be easy for us to get good candidates. We wish that
GTU continue this centralized process and keep repository of candidates, so that when any industry
have any requirement of Pharmacy candidate, they have to contact GTU directly rather
approaching multiple colleges.” – Dr. Rina H. Gokani, Accuprec Research Labs Pvt Ltd.,

Excitement of getting job from placement is more than getting job directly. One suggestion is that
give conformation message to students before 2 to 3 days so they can do their good preparation.
But really it was very good experience & also management was very good. Thank You.”- Shah
Rucha, M. Pharm student, BK Mody Gov. Pharmacy College, Rajkot.
