1. Preface:

1.1. This section of the Guild Application Package refers to the elements which are to be made visible to other Members of the Guild of Project Controls that demonstrate your work experience.

1.2. Planning Planet (PP) community are supporting the Guild of Project Controls by housing the Guilds

own website at www.PlanningPlanet.com/Guild and / or www.GuildofProjectControls.com Guild Applicants are required to utilize the PP portal and are thus utilizing the Planning Planet online profile system (with some additional privacy precautions for Guild Members). This Guidance Note explains the following:

2.1. User Account is created via : www.PlanningPlanet.com/user/register 2.2. User Profile is created via : (automatically created when User Account is created) 2.3. User Experience is created via : www.PlanningPlanet.com/add/experience 2.4. User Experience Reference is created via : www.PlanningPlanet.com/add/reference 2.5. 3. How to make your Planning Planet (PP) Profile “Complete”? 3.1. Your PP Profile is in place to demonstrate to other Planning Planet and Guild Members who you

are and what you have done / achieved. PP Members will only see summary details about you while Guild Members will see each of your Experience Records (refer images below).

3.2. A “complete” Profile is therefore required to contain sufficient "Experience Records" to

demonstrate the roles, responsibilities and experience gained in the period which can be described as "The date you started in Project Controls up to TimeNow or today".

3.3. i.e. if you have had 5 jobs in your career you should (ideally) create 5 “Experience Records”. 3.4. i.e. if you have had 50 contracts or placements you should decide on how you might best

summarise them; you do not need to create 50 separate records (unless you really want to) 3.5. One "Current Experience Record" to also required in order to show your current role and the

requisite number of “References” are required to be attached to one or more of your Experience Records”

5. What should Guild of Project Controls (GPC) Profile look like? 5.1. Your Guild of Project Controls profile will look the same as your PP Profile with the exception that

it will also list References and Work Experience Records and is only visible to other Guild Members.

6. How to Edit my Account… 6.1. “Your “Account” stores personal website access and preference information about you. You can

update and amend your Email Address and Password here. From the main www.PlanningPlanet.com page…

6.2. Go to “My Account” > then to “EDIT” 6.3. Then you will be offered various fields and preferences to select.

7.1. “Your “Profile” stores summary information about you. From the main www.PlanningPlanet.com page…

7.2. Go To “My Account” > then go to “EDIT” > then go to “Profile” 7.3. Fill in the following Fields… 7.3.1. Enter “First Name” and “Last Name” - Enter your name and family name.

7.3.2. Enter “Bio / Skill Summary” - Enter a short description that best summarises you and your skills

and capabilities. This is not a description of specific projects or experiences but a description of what you can do.

7.3.3. Enter ”Region” - Select the geographic location of your CURRENT project or role.

7.3.4. Enter ”Industry” - Select the industry sector that best describes your CURRENT project or role. 7.3.5. Enter ”Company” - Enter the title that best describes the company who CURRENTLY employ or

commission you. Note: The above Region, Industry and Company will be auto-updated whenever you create an “Experience Record” (see below) which has not END Date and this reflects your CURRENT role.

7.3.6. Enter “Training” - Enter the titles of the training courses you have attended and separate each one

by commas.

7.3.7. Enter “Certifications and Awards” - Enter the acronyms or titles for your certifications and / or awards and separate each one by commas.

7.3.8. Enter ”Professional Since Date” - Select the month / year to specify which best describes when

your work experiences originally commenced. Note, in order to be considered to have a “Complete Profile” you will subsequently need to create one or more “Experience Records” (see below) which explain the experiences you have undertaken from NOW back until this Professional Since date.

7.3.9. Enter “Telephone Number” - Enter your contact telephone number (optional).

7.3.10. Enter “LinkedIn Profile” or Enter: “Facebook Profile” or Enter: “Twitter Profile” - Enter the web

address or URL that points to your profile (optional).

8. How to Create one or more Work Experiences… 8.1. “Work Experiences” or “Professional Experiences” are data records used to define and describe

the experiences gained in respect to a project or task. 8.2. Go To “Create Content” - http://www.planningplanet.com/node/add 8.3. Go to “Work Experience” - http://www.planningplanet.com/node/add/experience 8.4. Fill in the following Fields… 8.4.1. Enter “Description of Role & Duties” - Using the following headings to explain about the Work

Experience: describe Project Description, Role & Responsibilities and Lessons Learned

8.4.2. Enter ”START Date” - Select the month / year to specify when this work experience commenced.

8.4.3. Enter ”END Date” - Select the month / year to specify when this work experience completed. Note: if this is your CURRENT JOB EXPERIENCE leave this field blank so that the length of experience will be shown as the period from the Start Date up to NOW. Note: For your Work Experience Profile to be considered as complete you will need to create one work Experience record to denote your current job or role.

8.4.4. Enter ”Region” -Select the geographic location of this project or role.

8.4.5. Enter ”Industry” - Select the industry sector that best describes this project or role.

8.4.6. Enter ”Job Role” - Enter a title that best describes this role.

8.4.7. Enter ”Project” - Enter the title that best describes this project or task.

8.4.8. Enter “Skills & Expertise”- Enter keywords, separate by comma’s that best highlight your

experiences.

8.4.9. Enter ”Company” - Enter the title that best describes the company who employed or commissioned you for this project or task.

8.4.10. Enter ”Experience Hours (Planning & Scheduling)” - Select from the list the number of hours that

best reflect the time spent whilst on this project undertaking Planning & Scheduling operations. 8.4.11. Enter ”Experience Hours (Cost Management)” - Select from the list the number of hours that best

reflect the time spent whilst on this project undertaking Cost Management operations. 8.4.12. Enter ”Experience Hours (Forensic Analysis)” - Select from the list the number of hours that best

reflect the time spent whilst on this project undertaking Forensic Analysis operations.

8.4.13. Note: If you subsequently join the Guild of Project Controls (GPC) you will be required to demonstrate or further justify these “hours” via an assessment interview and / or references etc. The overall total of these hours will be one of the criteria utilized by the Guild to determine which level of Guild Membership you qualify for.

9. How to Create one or more References… 9.1. “References” are data records used to help validate the experience gained in respect to a project

or task. A “Work Experience” or “Professional Experience” record can have one or many References attached to it.

9.2. Go To “Create Content” - http://www.planningplanet.com/node/add 9.3. Go to “Reference” - http://www.planningplanet.com/node/add/reference 9.4. Fill in the following Fields… 9.4.1. Enter “Reference Made By” - Reference Made By will identify who is making the reference about

you and is required to be in the format: "John Smith, Project Controls Manager" etc. We require this to be manually entered to allow for references to be made in respect of non-website members.

9.4.2. Enter “Reference Type” - Select the option which best reflects the type of reference.

9.4.3. Enter “Experience Link” - Select which of your “Work Experiences” or “Professional Experiences”

(refer above) that this Reference is in relation to.

9.4.4. Enter “Reference PDF” - Select the PDF file that you have created that describes the reference.

9.4.5. Note: If you subsequently join the Guild of Project Controls (GPC) you will be required to utilise their “GPC Letter of Recommendation” template and upload it here.

9.4.6. Enter “Reference Quote” - The Reference Quote should be the summary text that the person

shown in "Reference Made By" has provided and has GIVEN PERMISSION for his / her name and role and reference to be made public.
