Create Clear Curricular Pathways
Our Progress:• Collaborative, multi-stakeholder Guided Pathways Taskforce
with faculty, classified, and administrative voice• Discussed Meta-Majors (now Interest Areas) within the GP
Task Force, in Student Focus groups, and with larger groups of faculty
• Piloted Program Mapping discussions with 4 ADTs
What we might do in the future:• Group disciplines into Interest Areas• Continue Program Mapping discussions in multi-disciplinary
cross-functional groups• Integrate Interest Areas and Program Maps into our overall
structure (Web Site, CCC Apply, other technology)• And more…
Help Students Choose and Enter Their Pathway
Our Progress:• Counseling helps students choose their major and create Ed Plans• Personal Development courses in Career Exploration• Workshops available through Counseling and the Tri-Cities Career
Center in Choosing a Major and Career Exploration• Faculty collaborate with high school teachers to identify course
competencies and create courses that articulate• New Student Orientation, Freshman Days, and other High School
outreach activities• What else?
What we might do in the future:• Strategically organize counseling and career exploration by Interest
Area• Involve the Transfer Center and the Tri-Cities Career Center in
helping students connect their major to careers through events, internships, and other contextualized supports
• And more…
Help Students Stay on the PathOur Progress:• Starfish Early Alert System• Peer Tutoring• English and Math Learning Centers• Office of Student Life support on basic needs• Student Equity and Achievement Planning FYE and Summer
Bridge Programs• What else?
What we might do in the future:• Organize in-reach student support around each Interest
Area, using data to monitor progress toward program completion
• Expand the use of Starfish and/or other technology• Provide designated contacts for each Interest Area for
students to easily access support• And more…
Ensure that Learning is Happening with Intentional Outcomes
Our Progress:• High-quality curriculum with defined Student Learning Outcomes• Excellent and supportive faculty working with students to ensure
learning is happening in and out of the classroom • Industry Advisory Boards for CE programs ensure that programs are
preparing students for careers
What we might do in the future:• Implement a Peer Data Coaching program that assigns a Data Coach
to each Interest Area to help faculty and staff examine data • Professional development for faculty to continue to innovate and
improve teaching practices• Continue conversations with employers and transfer schools to
ensure out SLOs are aligned• And more…
